Their favorite time of year is when we prune back trees, shrubs, and weed garden beds. Because we only compost what the goats and other animals don't want.
We have a fundraiser goal of $300 to order seeds for their field next year. Can you help us re-seed their pen?😊❤️
A new generation of compassion and kindness is coming to the front, and we couldn't be prouder. Brock's human made sure he was going to live a wonderful life after his program. Thank you for choosing this outcome for little Broccolini ❤️ 🥹
Most people who trim goats hooves prefer to flip them on their backs. We aren't about that stress or the complications that can come with it, so we found more comfortable and less stressful ways for them to get their bi-monthly hoof trims.
If they are still small enough, they either get to sit or lay down on goat dad's lap so goat mom can give them pedicures.
If they're big kids like Chip, they get treated similarly to a horse getting their hooves cleaned. Standing by their side and picking up their feet.
Comfort and being overall happy are our main concerns when it comes to any medical or routine care for animals. ❤️
Just having a good time with delicious strawberries! After a hot day, we like to make sure everyone has had electrolyte water and watermelon or strawberries as a bonus treat. 🥰🍓
Evie knew what she was doing! She demanded the finer things in life, and we can't blame her for it.
(You will want your sound on for Peanut's adorable chewing ASMR.) Peanut was born with an underdeveloped brain and was told she was never going to eat or thrive. Peanut is now almost five years old. As of a few years ago, she finally discovered she liked treats, so now we have the joy of sharing new things with her, like a little sugar cookie thanks to one of our volunteers/supporters. Peanut is living proof that anything is possible. 😊
We had a fundraiser for filling our hay shed, hoping to reach our goal of $2,400. Thanks to an anonymous donor, they would MATCH that goal if it was met. Our beautiful community MET THAT GOAL!! We have raised $4,800 for our hay funding and now have months of food security for our hay munching animals.
We are so incredibly thankful for everyone who shared and donated towards this effort. Truly, thank you! In the midst of so many personal medical issues, this brings my mind some peace knowing everyone is fed for a long while. 😭❤️
And we're okay with this arrangement. Because just look at his cute little face! Goats are basically Cat-dogs, but with hooves and horns. 😂❤️
She came to us with absolutely no use of her legs, and we assumed she would never walk again. But with Goat mom's determination and round the clock care, look what she can do! 🥹❤️
When I tell you I have mad respect for the kiddo that put themselves into the line of dªnger to protect this girl, boy howdy. Spotty is the sweetest old lady, and we couldn't imagine having it any other way for her. So happy and free. 🥹❤️
So far, her favorite treat is wild bird seed mix. When she's out of her sleeping area, she is given her seeds to help encourage her to walk, scratch, and peck like a normal chicken. We think she is doing great with her progress. She may need a special shoe for her left foot life-long due to nerve issues, but that shouldn't slow her down much. ❤️
So you want ducks? Be prepared for ALL the poop. Not just some, all. 😂 You'd think with all the freeroaming they did, it wouldn't be that bad. No, no, they poop so so much. 😂
That's okay, though. We love them, and they're helping feed our garden. Which will one day feed them.❤️
Since she can't walk too well yet, she gets cleaned regularly to keep her feathers and feet all pretty. Plus we think she likes all the pampering. ❤️
This is why we tell you to keep treats outside their pen. And this is just the baby pen! Imagine the adult pen! 😂 Gotta make sure Miss Peanut gets her favorite treats, though. She worked hard for those. 🥰
I mean, if it's stupid and it works, it ain't stupid - right? 🙂
If you need support for a baby bird, small jars work great! When she isn't getting leg massages and exercises, she is able to stand herself up in her little jar with extra support. Mind you, this isn't a set and forget type scenario. When she is done wanting to stand, we set her back out to relax with her buddy. What's the benefits? Upright time when she can't on her own give her more air and better digestion. ❤️
Remember our introduction of Tweedle and Cholula? Tweedle was surrendered being partially paralyzed. Well, Tweedle has been working extra hard with goat mom in physical therapy and would like everyone to see what she can do now. 🥰
Well, this week, we were SUPPOSED to graduate outside with the rest of the quack pack, but it's supposed to be in the 100s all week. Guess that just means extra play time in the tub. Oh no, how horrible. 😂❤️
Muppet and her buddies are doing fabulous, and you would never guess she was a splay leg baby. 🙂
Meet our newest rescues, Tweedle and Cholula. They were surrendered to us when their previous home discovered Tweedle had a handicap and was unable to stand or walk properly.
We tried physical therapy, splinting, hobbles, shoes, you name it, we tried it. Our best guess is that she has nerve damage and just isn't able to use them.
She is otherwise happy as can be and loves to be held. Her buddy Cholula is a sassy little booger who is very protective of her.
Once she is big enough, we have a wheelchair made special for chickens and ducks that we think she will like. In the meantime, we are looking into making a Barbie sized one just for her. 🥰❤️

Happy one year anniversary Hopper! Hopper is living proof that one kind act can change a life for the better - or in his case, save a life.🥰❤️
Today is a heavy day for goat mom. Are you having a bad day, too? So, in the best fashion to manage stress, here is Evie being her queen bounce baby self that she is to try and get a smile. Don't let anyone fool you. Sheep and lambs have a TON of personality.
