Summer is here and you want to spend as much time as possible outside with your furry friend. 🐶

But of course, summer also brings hot days with exhausting heat. 🫠☀️

We have a few tips for you to keep your four-legged friend comfortable in summer.

1) Protect your dog from prolonged exposure to the sun to prevent sunburn or sunstroke and offer cool, shady places to retreat to.

2) Take walks in the cooler morning and evening hours, as the tarmac gets far too hot for your dog's paws at midday. Also choose shorter and shady routes, e.g. in the forest or park. 🌳

3) Always provide fresh water - at the feeding place and outside in the garden.

4) Refresh your dog with the garden hose or a visit at the lake, pond or holidays by the sea. 🏖

By the way: A visit to the dog groomer can also help. ✂️

DOG ON A LEAD DAY is an exciting new campaign to raise awareness of the many benefits of walking dogs on the lead ❤️🥰🐾.
You can celebrate this day by putting your dog on a lead for the day, so reactive and nervous dogs can walk without worry for at least that day or by organizing a dog walk with friends🐶🤗.

Kittens are adorable and playful creatures. Here are two fun activities you can try with your little furball 😘🐱:

🐾 Climbing: Set up a small cat tree or provide sturdy shelves for your kitten to climb. It satisfies their curiosity and keeps them active.
🐾 Feather Teasers: These toys mimic birds and encourage your kitten to jump and swat.

The brains of humans and dogs function similarly during sleep 🤗.

Dogs also have REM phases during which they dream - just like humans.

For example, if you notice your dog twitching or moving its paws during sleep, it is most likely dreaming ❤️🥰.

Today is June 29th, which means that today is “World Day Against Pet Abandonment” ❤️.

It’s always on the last Saturday of the month when thousands of people go on holiday across Europe. In France, 100 000 animals are abandoned each year 🐶🐱.

🐾 ABANDONMENT CAN BE AVOIDED

No matter for what reason a pet is abandoned, the animal is always the one that suffers most in this situation. These abandoned animals have to take care of themselves and live in constant fear.

The best way to prevent pet abandonment is by educating people about responsible pet ownership. We all have a responsibility to do our part in preventing this issue. This could include adopting animals and providing them a safe and loving home, volunteering at shelters, or donating to animal welfare organizations.

Using our resources, we can all work together to provide a better future for abandoned animals and reduce the number of pets that are neglected every day.

This has never happened before: Interzoo was already sold out more than two and a half months before the start of the trade fair. This year's edition of the world's leading trade fair for the pet industry will therefore be the biggest ever. And we are right in the middle of it 🥳

Dog Ice Cream Diy🍦 It is not just humans who enjoy the cold of a fresh ice lolly at this time of the year. Why not let your dog do the same? Today we have a simple recipe for an ice lolly that your dog can enjoy. 🐕 Materials: Ice cream moulds Popsicle sticks A Knive A Bowl Ingredients: 1/2 ripe banana Hand full of blueberries 150g natural yoghurt 3-5 Strawberries Alternatively you can also add dogfood, meat or other things your dog likes Cut the Strawberries and Banana. Mix all the ingredients well and pour into the mould, add the popsicle sticks. Freeze for at least 4 hours and enjoy. Time for baking! You only need a few ingredients to make these delicious and quick dog cookies. 🍪🐕 The instructions and the recipe are in the video and below.
