Chloe doesn't cuddle the way Shadow does, but every so often she lets him cuddle as they both snooze. Then she'll come to her senses as she gets up, shakes herself off, wanders elsewhere, then returns to lying maybe a foot and a half away from him. Meanwhile Shadow hasn't moved a muscle.

"Me and my Shadow: Copiloting" -- From yesterday: We're parked. Chloe in back, lying down. I tell Shadow we're waiting for Kathi to come out. "Keep an eye out for her." He then turns and looks out the window, looking for her.

From Dad: Kathi and I get a lot of compliments on our dogs: their behavior, their training, their intelligence, their personality. Our pups *are* fantastic - all our pups have always demonstrated independence, intelligence, and unique personalities. We enjoy challenging them, engaging with and expanding their experiences. I trust our dogs more than I trust most people. So, yeah - this.

I'm Chloe, The Very Serious Girl Dog most of the time. Somebody needs to watch over my goofy husky brother to make sure he doesn't become goofier than he already is. I correct Daddy whenever he tries messing with my head or narrating what he thinks are my thoughts. Thank god for Mama because she doesn't do any of that!

Mama thinks my snoodles are getting better. If you recall I've had this weird cold/respiratory thing for nearly a year now. I've been scoped, medicated, and examined with no clear diagnosis. I still wake up with a runny snoot but it's nowhere near as bad as it was. Same thing during the day. Mama says I have great trajectory with my sneezes, lol.

I love heated throws, cuddling with Mama, telling Daddy off with my stampy paw, FOOD, exploring woodsy areas, FOOD, hunting bunnies. FOOD, and sunning myself in the backyard. I'm not crazy about other dogs but I do like humans, particularly adult females.

2:30 AM. Mr. Husky wakes me from a sound sleep with a conversation-level series of woo-woos and warbling. I get up, presuming he needs me to let him out to potty. But no, that wasn't it: he needed me to open a door, yes. But not to the backyard.

Mr. Husky had me open a door so that he could get into the guest room and sleep on the bed in there, as he found it more comfortable than his dog bed in master bedroom. He didn't even go out for a courtesy potty. He went straight to bed in his new more-comfy location.

Thanks, Buddy. I live to serve, apparently...

A friend's child commented that dogs can't drive. I countered with "Well, they can if they're licensed. Isn't that what licenses are for?"

The child insisted that they weren't that type of license.

I created and sent the mom this to share. Haven't heard back...it's been a few years, so I think I won that argument. Or, they're still laughing.

Dad opened up the door to the porch and noticed a ball positioned right in front of it. A few feet back, a Husky stood idly looking around...Dad chuckled and said "Subtle. Real subtle, Shadow." Shadow pretended not to know what he was talking about, of course. And then, "Oh, I see you've found a ball..."

Dad's home sick. We've taken turns sleeping next to him when he naps. When he's up, we never know what to expect: will he do some of his work? Will he play on his computer? Will he play with us...? When he chooses to play with us (which is more often than not, and obviously the right choice), he sometimes makes up games. Like the one he just played: "RPA" (random peanut assault)

He waits and watches until we're either sleeping or playing with something, or hanging out in the yard snuffling the air and enjoying the cold...then suddenly a peanut flies through air and lands near - or on - us. (unsalted, shelled). The last session ended in the kitchen. We cornered him, and he'd toss a random peanut into the air near one of us, then the other, keeping us busy until he was out. Then he wandered off.

Dad said this reminded him of Malamute Jack. He used to hunker down next to Mr. Jack, tell him "the plan" what they would be doing next, then ask Jack if he got it and was good to go. Malamute Jack would respond with a paw bump, and they'd both head out to do whatever they'd planned.
