Update on "Missy"! (video with Missy(black dog) and a couple of her buddies, Marley and Greta).
Although we had the devastating diagnosis of Hermangiosarcoma, we are continuing with "hospice" care for our senior girl. She continues to do well and her joy of eating remains. Our Vet did add a Chinese herb to her daily care treatment, which aids in clotting and has potential anti inflammatory/anti cancer properties. We will continue keeping her comfortable and cherish each day we have with her.

Grateful thanks to Dea Dea Sporleder for the gift of food & catnip toys for the Shelter cats :)
Dora and Dave enjoyed using our Smart Cat Unwrap App to preview her gift prior to further delivery!
P.S. Dora unwrapped 3 more toys before my confiscation thereof!
Dash. A constant on the go kind of fella. Sit still photo ops are tough!
Snow squalls and a whole lot of wind, so time to go in!
LIFE!
Little Miss Happy Pants :) Today was "Vida's" first outing of exploration. Although she has lost most of her fur due to scratching, she does not allow being nearly naked to affect her joy! Her name is of Spanish origin and it means "Life!". I think I named her appropriately, as she is, for the first time, beginning to live life joyously :) Blossom and Bloom baby girl! (See original post June 23.)
Nizhoni
Nizhoni spent the afternoon with Dr. Huddle and the APCC staff yesterday, getting xrays and being loved on :) She's a little trooper! We'll share the xray, results and recommendation from the Ortho Surgeon soon.
Lazarus Lives!
Lazarus enjoying explorations at APCC :)
Still Standing
Lazarus Lives! Day 5: Time for motivation. We were hoping to encourage walking; but simply rejoiced in the fact that Lazarus would stand, even if only for a few second. Though neurological signs were still present (head bobbing/weaving), this was progress!
Progress
Lazarus lives! Day four: With frequent meals daily, Lazarus was gaining strength; but still too weak to stand. Generally, cleaning up after a puppy is not the most pleasant experience; but we cheered with the "proof" that showed us his organs were functioning :) Neurological issues ( head bobbing, tilting/weaving side to side) were still present. In spite of this, we knew, given time, the body has the amazing capability of re-setting functions and healing. With continued hope, we waited...
Meals Required
Lazarus Lives! Day three: The night of the third day, Lazarus' IV needed to be removed, thus we had arrived at a moment of defining truth... Would he begin eating on his own? The lapping of food brought great joy to our ears and hearts for many reasons... This moment, meant Lazarus was now traveling the road to recovery! Our prognosis remained guarded, as the observation of neurological damage was present. Still, we had hope! Lazarus was young and with proper nutrition and medical care, full recovery was possible. Time would give us the answers.
Lazarus Lives!
Lazarus Lives! Day two: Continued IV fluids, heat packs, frequent syringe feedings with critical care gruel (karo syrup added for energy boost/blood sugar/appetite stimulant). Body core temps checked throughout the day. Vocal speech and sounds along with touch to encourage life engagement. Prognosis guarded, as with severe hypothermia, anemia and malnutrition, the odds for survival were limited. We knew there could be possible brain and organ damage, due to the fact that his body functions had been shutting down. So, we waited, prayed and continued with his care.
