Last week was a week full of field trips for some of our advanced campers! Pongo, Layla, Ness, Spirit, and Kane all practiced their life skills out and about as they prepare to head back home to their families. From enjoying shaved ice to ignoring lots of distractions, these dogs all rocked it!

Training doesn’t end at graduation!

Our graduates came back together for a fun challenge during group class — Carry the Cup! The game? Heel your dog while carrying a cup full of water, and move as fast as you can without spilling. 💦 Sounds simple… until your dog starts pulling! It’s the ultimate test of loose leash walking and teamwork.

These group classes are all about strengthening focus, building skills, and having fun — and they’re available exclusively to our graduates.

See how some of our campers are mastering agility and building their confidence along the way!

Agility training is a big part of our programs, even for an everyday pet! It isn’t just about obstacle courses, it’s a powerful tool to build confidence and resilience in your dog.

When your dog navigates through tunnels, ramps, and stairs, they learn to overcome challenges and conquer new fears. This process helps them develop a stronger trust in themselves and in their abilities. As they succeed in agility, they become more comfortable handling stress and new situations outside of training, making them more resilient to stress in everyday life.

Plus, it deepens your bond and communication, making training a positive experience for both of you.

🎬🐶 Check out this clip of Winnie learning the art of directed retrieve! While our usual focus is pet dog training, we’re excited to offer specialized hunting dog training for those looking to enhance their pup’s skills in the field.

In this video, Winnie is just getting started with directed retrieves, which is a key skill for hunting dogs. Our trainer, Emily, is throwing several bumpers (fake birds) in different directions and then guiding Winnie to the correct one by pointing her hand. This trains her to target and retrieve exactly what you ask for, even in a busy field!

A directed retrieve is an essential skill that teaches your dog to focus, follow commands, and bring back the right object, making them a reliable partner on hunting trips, and even in everyday life 🙌

Miley found a home 🙌

Last year, while driving through our area, we spotted this girl dangerously wandering the side of a busy road. We scooped her up and brought her home with us, and, after months of unsuccessfully trying to find her owner, we started to look for a permanent home.

Just a few weeks ago, our friends up at Balanced Behavior referred what seemed like the perfect family!

After spending just a few minutes with her, they decided to take her home, and we’re happy to say that Miley (now renamed “Molly”) is doing great with her new family! Even better, they’ve enrolled her in training classes with Balanced Behavior. It’s not every day that a dog like Molly will not only find the right home, but also owners that will go above and beyond providing the right training and care.

We couldn’t be happier for her 🥰
