The slat mill is like a motorized tread mill, but the dog has control...
There is no motor, no power.
Unlike a motorized treadmill… when the dog stops moving.. so does the mill.
If they don’t want to walk or run, they don’t have to.
This makes it extremely safe, and much easier for dogs to understand and love to use.
Within GRC Dogsports the dogs actually participate in a mill race against other opponents.
They must show a love for the activity, and control while on the mill.

The firepaw slat mills are able to be set at an incline so it can also be used for muscle building and physical strength training for senior / disabled dogs.
Walking at a steady pace on an incline does wonders for benefitting body condition
(horses, dogs, cats, humans etc)
The use of a slat mill also comes in handy for high drive / high energy dogs in the winter.
*** In the video below- our 11 month old pup Soda is learning that she has control of this strange new thing, which is a huge confidence builder for little tyke… or any dog.
It also takes a solid relationship of trust to support them through the learning process.

A lot of the time, it’s not the toy that they love… or don’t love… it’s the game or lack of game.
A Labrador who loves fetch will fetch anything.. it’s doesn’t matter which ball, which stick… it’s the actual game of fetch that they love.
A kid who learns to love soccer will play with any ball shaped object even a tin can as long as they have players who also love the game of soccer, know the rules, or are coachable to learn.
Save your money, there’s no need to always buy the best toys on the market.
Develop your game.
