The goal of the Mill Race in GRC:

To demonstrate intensity & commitment to a 2 minute sprint on a free spinning mill, while maintaining control and loose leash responsibility before and after.

How can training for the Slat Mill Race in GRC help you improve your daily life with your dog ⁉️

- Loose Leash Responsibility.
In any GRC event you must loose leash walk your dog to and from the mill.

- Wait until released / Impulse Control.
Your dog stays stationary on the mill until released by the judge to start.
(In MR1 you can restrain until judge calls release- but training for levels MR2 & MR3 is always recommended)

- Emotional / arousal regulation.

In MR1 When the judge says your time is complete- you must cue your dog to slow down to come to a full stop.
(Can use verbal, hand signals or the mill break)
In MR2 & MR3 the judge will ask you to decelerate AND accelerate your dogs speed on a verbal cue throughout their run.

Having the ability to cue your dog into the appropriate arousal level on the mill and in life - isn’t that what we all want?
“Easy” & “Ok!” in full clarity - taught through drive expression and play 👌

There are so many behavioural benefits & lifestyle goals to achieve woven into all aspects of GRC.

That’s why we love this Dogsport.
That’s why it exists.
It’s for life.
