Turbo was at the Knoxville, TN, CFA cat show this past weekend. He met a toddler and was great at showing her how much fun cats can be! He also came home with the title of Premier. This title if for cats that are spayed or neutered and is equivalent to the Champion title for breeding cats.

I haven't been able to work for over a month due to health issues. I felt bad about the lack of time and training Turbo was getting. But he sure didn't waste his time! In between his play sessions he was a great companion and he also adjusted quickly to my using a walker. I think he has that step of the evaluation down cold! Next week I'm back to work part time and will soon be weaning off the walker. I'm looking forward to spending more active time with my little stud muffin.

Turbo is continuing his harness training. This is a critical step for a cat to become a registered therapy cat. He must be comfortable wearing his harness and leash in all settings. Today after putting on his harness and having some very yummy treats, Turbo kept his harness on for a little while as he learned he can walk around "sort of" normally in it.

Turbo tried on his new red harness. He wants to know how could allow him to wear a step-in dog harness? He cannot find a way to take it off himself. Follow Turbo here as he trains to be the next registered Durham Therapy Cat!

This handsome fellow is 5 month old Speed Racer, aka Turbo. Turbo is seen here at his first TICA show. He said he would like to start training to be a registered ! I'm so grateful to Grace at Big Meow for this wonderful boy. He's been with me less than a week and is already integrating into the family and routine!

Vivo is tired of COVID cramping her style, especially with Durham back in the red category for transmissions. She wants to be out and about! As much as she loves her therapy work, she is wondering if she should become an FDA Food Inspector instead.

In Loving Memory of Cadi
July 23, 2006 – April 15, 2022

My sweet girl has left to sit on the lap of Jesus. She deserves to be there. It is appropriate that she went on the anniversary of His death. Arcadia Grace, or Cadi, changed my life for the better. I would not be doing what I’m doing or living the life I’m living if she had not been in it.
Cadi loved to show. And she was gorgeous. We got off to a rough start in the show halls. I was clueless about grooming. After a few kind judges explained to me what a great cat I had, I wasn’t doing her justice, and what I needed to do to win ribbons, I took an interest in learning to groom. I started asking questions and trying harder to do a better job. That was followed by my first training at the National Cat Groomers Institute, and my interest and love of grooming was born. It is appropriate that Cadi is on Trilling Cat’s home page and a silhouette from one of her professional photos was used to create the logo.
It was also Cadi that made me realize cats could make just as good, if not better, therapy animals as dogs. She was intelligent, learned quickly, easy going, trusted me more than I could ever say, and was sweet to anyone who wanted to pet her. She passed her first evaluation for Pet Partners Therapy Pets with flying colors, and soared from there. Cadi was the first cat an infant touched. She was the one who broke through to a sixteen-year-old homeless boy whose response when he first saw her was that he hated cats. She spent many hours in assisted living bringing joy and stimulating memories of the residents. She attended dog walks and looked down her nose at the lesser species. She taught one of the lessons at the local high school’s animal science class, attended FFA meetings, and got up in front of an audience of parents and potential students to tell them about our partnership with the school. Clearly one of her favorite jobs was going to UNC-Chapel Hill for exam stress relief. She was certainly in her element being fawned over by students, faculty and staff.
To me, Cadi was my soul mate. I could not have asked for a better companion. Thanks to Grace Cox of Big Meow who brought us together, my life is so much better. Not just because of grooming and Pet Partners. It is for the love Cadi gave to me. The unconditional love. She is forever in my heart, and I will rejoice when I am able to join her again.

Cadi will be on medical leave from her Therapy Cat duties, and Vivo has agreed to pick up the slack. Unfortunately the tumor that was removed from Cadi's intestines was cancerous, and her oncologist has recommended chemotherapy. We are being guardedly optimistic since the tumor was found before Cadi had any symptoms, and your prayers and well wishes are much appreciated as we travel this road.

Vivo's going to be getting her glam on for the cat show in Raleigh coming up! If you've never been to one, it is amazing to see all the various breeds of cats. Vivo is getting to be one busy girl! When she's not working as a therapy cat, she is on the job as the Chief Feline Officer at Trilling Cat.

Our CFO is going to be showing in Raleigh! On Saturday and Sunday, February 19th and 20th, Vivo will be at the North Carolina State Fair Grounds for the It's TICA Time Stars and Stripes cat show. Vivo would love for all her local friends to come out and say hello! Information about the show can be found at http://itsticatime.org/cat-show-feb-20-21-2021/

While Vivo is doing well and regaining strength from her hip dislocation, Cadi had major surgery a few days ago. She had a mass removed from her intestines, and we are waiting for the pathology results. She is home from the hospital and doing well. A special thank you to for the great care both girls have been receiving and to insurance for covering the expensive care my girls have needed!

While Vivo's hip continues to strengthen she's doing quite well. Apparently she got used to the extra attention and TLC. Cadi is under the weather and received a special dinner tonight. Vivo was not pleased about being served her normal fare.

Vivo is doing great! She's looking forward to being able to get back out and working again! A big thank you to Dr. Hackett at ! I never thought I'd be so happy to see a cat jump up on the kitchen counter.

Great News!! We saved Vivo's hip! She is now getting some time out of the crate. She has a bit of a limp which is expected at this point, but it should go away as she rebuilds her muscles. Thanks to all of you who have been praying for our beautiful and friendly CFO! She was happy to be hanging with her sister Cadi for a while.

Great news! Vivo had her hip x-rayed today and everything looked good. She has to stay in the crate another week, and then can gradually start normal activities. Ever have to crate a cat? I put hers on wheels. It has really helped to be able to move her to the room I'm in so she can maintain her supervisory duties. She was getting bored when left on one room by herself.

After a rough week with having to live in the crate and wearing 2 e-collars to keep as much bandage on as possible, Vivo had a great visit with her surgeon for her recheck yesterday. She no longer needs the bandage so that means no more e-collars! She is still confined to her crate and goes back next Wednesday for x-rays. So far, so good. Please keep praying for her! The answers have been what we want to far!

Please pray for Vivo. She dislocated a hip Saturday afternoon. She's been to the emergency clinic but they were not able to pop it back in. So we're trying to get an appointment for anesthesia and possible surgery. Like all else since the start of the pandemic, it is a waiting game for veterinary care. But the longer we have to wait, the more drastic the surgery will need to be to repair the joint. This sweet girl needs your thoughts and prayers so she will be able to get back to doing what she loves - making people happy!
Update: Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospital considers this urgent and will see her tomorrow! Thank you TVRH!!
11/30 Update: We had the best day we could hope for. The surgeon was able to pop Vivo's hip back in place while she was under general anesthesia. The next two weeks are critical for her. She will have her leg in a sling and be confined to a crate. If the hip stays in place we have a chance she will not need surgery.

Cadi and Vivo are looking forward to their first IN PERSON/CAT visit in two years!!
