Hallelujah another year of fertility from Gibbs my Plymouth Barred Rock gentleman! I thought he would be done for after frostbite took all his toes but he has persevered. Another year of chick's have hatched. Anyone needing some good quality line birds let me know! The Buckeyes are also producing nicely!! Thank goodness !

We've got Buckeyes and Barreds in the incubator! Girls are laying like crazy now. Sphinx line is continuing with two more arrivals earlier this week. Have some sharp looking OEGB pullets too.

The grow out group finally got to get out and explore gor the first time. (I'm overprotective) and they had a blast. The girls tested their flight skills, the boys tested their fight skills. And then they showed me they listen closely for predators! I also decided I have GOT to name the Sphinx line girls. The black female looks like a female version of him. And the dilute vs of Siren is just a goof and very nosy.

I got blessed with this group!! Two hens one lighter one darker of a hen I have always wanted a replica of(and not even from her !) And a c**kerel to match them. A pullet that is a Sphinx granddaughter even down to his coloring. Some decent male c**kerels from my PBR line, some really nice pullets from my Buckeye line, a gorgeous Lemon Blue Sport pair from my Lemon Blue OEGB, two super nice brown red pullets from that hatch, and a son of Gibbs my beautiful well mannered PBR c**k that I feared unable to reproduce due to frostbite taking all his toes. The large fowl group has some very people friendly birds and very pleased with their dispositions. Let's hope we have some show worthy birds for next season in this group!!
