I grew up
with well mannered dogs. When I came across untrained dogs ,who usually acted quite unruly, I couldn't understand why their owners didn't just teach them some manners. When I was older, I understood that not everyone knows that dogs don't have to behave that way. Some people actually think that because their dog doesn't sit when they say "sit" it means their dog is stupid. Even Lassie had to be trained first. So I decided what better career for me then one that involves not only one of my greatest passions in life, but improving the relationships between dog and owner. I firmly believe that no dog is incapable of learning. How much that dog learns depends on three things: the trainer, the breed, and the owner. Don't misunderstand me, I don't believe any breed is stupid. I do believe that what the dog was originally bred to do affects how easily it takes to obedience training and how reliably it performs. If I can prevent one dog from being given away or taken to a shelter because of bad behavior, I will count myself successful. Please, before giving up on your dog, call me first.
