Waarom zou uw aquarium levend plankton nodig hebben? Plankton is een belangrijk onderdeel van de voedselketen. Plankton neemt nutriënten (nitraat en fosfaat) op uit het water, CO2 op uit de lucht en dit gebruiken ze om te groeien en om de belangrijke vetzuren te produceren. Vetzuren zijn proteïnes en vetten die onmisbaar zijn in de voedselketen. Zonder vetzuren kunnen (zee)dieren simpelweg nie

t overleven. Levende voeders zijn onder andere; zooplankton, phytoplankton, rotiferen en copepoden. Deze diertjes zijn een zeer belangrijke bron van voedsel voor het leven in het aquarium. Koralen, vissen, doopvonten en andere filterdieren kunnen niet overleven als er geen plankton in het water aanwezig is. Reefbacon omvat een groeiende productlijn van levende voeders speciaal bestemd voor gebruik in zeeaquaria. Het plankton komt niet uit zee, maar wordt onder laboratoriumcondities gecultiveerd bij Duplaco te Hengelo. Onder optimale condities worden zooplankton en phytoplankton culturen opgekweekt, waardoor kwaliteit en voedingswaarde continue kunnen worden gewaarborgd. EN:
Why does your marine tank need plankton? Plankton is a critical component of the food chain. Plankton will take nutrients, nitrates and phosphates out of the water, CO2 out of the air and combine that to grow and produce the very important fatty acids. Fatty acids are proteins and fats that are very critical to the food chain. Without these marine organisms just can't survive. Live feeds are live fresh plankton, phytoplankton, rotifers and copepods. Plankton is a very important source of nutrition for your marine environment. Corals, fish, filter-feeders and clams just will not survive if there is no plankton available for them. If you want a vibrant healthy marine ecosystem in your tank, the micro life can't be ignored. Reefbacon is a growing line of live feeds for marine tanks. The plankton is not wild caught, but is being cultured in the laboratories of the Dutch company Duplaco.
