As many of you may know, the Pet Abduction Act was passed this year.

This increases pet protection for many of us, recognising that cats and dogs are more than 'property'. 🐶🐱

They're sentient beings who feel distress and trauma if taken from their homes.

Rather than treating animals as property, shifting from the Theft Act 1968, pet abduction is now a crime in the UK.

Penalties for violating this new law can include up to five years of prison time, a fine, or BOTH! 💪

This is an amazing step for people with pets - giving animals more rights as more than just 'possessions' we have.

Because that's just simply not true. 🚫

Heroic pup to the rescue! 🐶💖

Gita, a 13-year-old rescue dog, proved that dogs truly are our best friends by leading a deputy to her injured owner in a cabin in the woods... all the way in the USA!

When Deputy Wright tried to help her, Gita guided him to a remote area where her elderly owner was lying injured and calling for help. 😱

Thanks to Gita's loyalty and quick thinking, her owner received the medical attention he needed. This amazing story is a reminder of the incredible bond we share with our pets! 🐕💨

After seven long years apart, Kylo the cat has finally returned home to his Glasgow family!

Missing since Boxing Day 2017, Kylo was found alive and well after being mistaken for a female cat named Poppy. 👀

Frankie expressed her joy, stating, "Deep down, I did think he was gone... just to know he was still alive was amazing."

Thanks to a microchip scan at a local vet, the family received the news they had been hoping for. 🙌
