Meet Pepe!
Pepe is a pretty new guy at the shelter and we love him.
He is incredibly sweet and friendly, good with all the other dogs and loves people.
He is a white Pekingese and about 2 years old.
Pepe is healthy aside from an eye condition, which is common for the breed. He needs drops each day and one eye has an injury, we are seeing a dog eye specialist to work out the best solution for him.
Pepe was abandoned by his guardians, possibly because of his eye condition.
We would love to find a great home for Pepe , but will only consider people who are seriously committed to daily care of his eyes. Perhaps there is a Pekingese or pug lover out there who has prior experience and is happy to do this task for a great little dog.

Well, we have another delivery.
It seems like it's puppy season and the irresponsible people are dumping the poor babies on us again.
So what can we do? We look after her the best we can. Look at that little face...
Dasha is less than 2 months old and needs vaccinations, worming and special food. And we need space!

Also if you can help spread the word to get our other dogs adopted, this would help a lot. We had our numbers down almost to our target but 8 new puppies in 2 weeks has really impacted our progress. We have had only a small few adoptions this year.

Three days ago we had to say goodbye to our sweet Josi.
She was 7 years old and spent almost all her life at the shelter. 9 months ago some nice guys took her for fostering as she had lots of problems with health which made her life at the shelter too challenging. She turned out to be a perfect house cat: incredibly tender, smart and sweet. Despite her not young age, she used to play like a kitten. The foster carers fell in love with her and finally decided to adopt her.
Unfortunately, one month ago she started feeling worse. We took her to several vets and finally found out it was carcinoma which couldn't be removed in her case. We had to let her go as she was suffering a lot.
We miss you so much, Josi.
Rest in peace.

Theo is still looking for his forever home. 🐾🐶
Although Theo found a home in Berlin this winter, his guardians have determined it's not the right fit for him despite their efforts.
Currently, Theo is in a foster home in West Germany. We urgently need to find him a permanent home. Theo has had too many guardians, and he deserves a dedicated owner. It would break our hearts to have him come back to the shelter, but it would surely break his heart as well. 💔
So we are looking for a home, preferably with experience and definitely with a garden. Suburbs or countryside would be ideal. We think he needs a longer time to settle in without the need to go out in the street until he's ready.
