Sunny came in to see Dr. Rosenthal this morning after dealing with a bit of an upset stomach over the weekend. After receiving a prescription for antibiotics, probiotics and lots of technician and doctor pets, we’re confident that Sunny will be just fine in no time! 🐈

Hearts & Bones Rescue is a 501c3 foster-based dog rescue based in Dallas & NYC. Since their start in 2017, they have saved over 4,000 dogs from an area with the highest euthanasia rate in the country! The Pet Mechanic will provide discounted care to Hearts & Bones' rescues, and when you adopt one of their pets, The Pet Mechanic will provide a discounted exam to the new parents!

Temperance Anne is a 4-year-old Newfoundland who came in to see us today for a suspected ear infection in both of her ears! 👂

We performed an ear cytology by taking a sample of both of her ears with a cotton swab, rolling the swabs on a microscope slide and then staining the slide to easily view any bacteria with the microscope. Take a look at what we found!

Temperance Anne had what we call “too numerous to count” or “TNTC” rod-shaped bacteria in both ears. We cleaned out both of her ears and treated them with a wax-based ear ointment with compounded antibiotics, antifungals and anti-inflammatories.

We can’t wait to see this happy girl back in two weeks to recheck those ears! 🐾
