Winslow, The Cat In The Wall The story of a shelter cat and his needs. Poor Winslow. Living in the Humane Society for over 4 months being listed as simply “Winslow Stray”.

He had been adopted once. But was quickly returned as they were told by the Vet that he 10 years old or older. As I inquired about the possibility of fostering him and the issue with his ear, I was told that it was “just from scratching” too much. As the days went by, I received no response from the person in charge of foster placement. When I finally did receive an email back, it stated that if I

would fill out the application and forms, she would see if she had time to check if there was a cat like that. Finally, after 2 weeks had passed, I returned to the Humane Society. He was still in his kennel. His ear was still seeping and swollen. At this point, it was as thick as my thumb. After using the free vet voucher for the place they provided in town, I paid $45 for the medication for his ear infection. I then found out that the person in charge of foster placement had quit and had not processed my paperwork. Now all of the medical is up to me. We found out that the ear is solid and cannot be drained. There is also a severely infected tooth on the same side and his hind feet are raw from being in the cage so long. The first step we need to take is a senior wellness exam, that includes blood work, then a full dental exam and work. Beyond that still remains to be seen.
