Long time no see!!

After a much needed break from breeding I’ve returned to the rabbit world.

I’ve decided to get this page up and running again. Purely as a place to store and share my progress again since getting back into breeding!

I’m still gathering my bearings but have also added a new breed into the mix! Mini Rex rabbits, still in a very small scale.

Thanks to some amazing breeders and friends I had the fortunate chance to get some of my stock back as foundation.

If everything goes well Baleine rabbits will be on the show table 2024!!

My greatest apologies for the lack of posts! I haven’t found the time and motivation to post recently.

A lot of things have happened since my last posts, all 5 of puddings black kits found lovely homes. ❤️
I recently welcomed a surrender mini lop, who has had trauma and in an extreme state of aggression that we are working on with time and patience.
All of our recent litter have found loving homes.

I have many breedings planned for this February. One of which is very exciting!

❤️If you do suspect calici, always know you can contact the club for swift action and help.

We can get test tubes and forms to you and advise on testing. The only way to confirm Calicivirus is via a test sample sent to the Csiro. YOUR VET CANNOT CONFIRM CALCIVIRUS. Your vet can however take a sample and send it off, if you have an unusual death, please request a sample be sent.

A few tips!

🐇Quarantine is 120 days from the date of your last death.
🐇No rabbits are to be removed from your property during this time.
🐇Please do not invite people with rabbits to your property during this time.
🐇 Do not visit other people’s homes with rabbits during this time.
🐇 Disinfect everything with a quality disinfectant, F10 and or virkon are very good.
🐇 Limit contact with your rabbits, touching one rabbit then the next aids in spreading the virus.
🐇 Vaccinate! The vaccine does offer good protection against K5 - this is the current choice of virus being dropped. Contact your vet, did the vaccine shortage you may have to ring around.

It wasn’t published. But I can see the hope is still alive by the shares and the comments you have all shared. There is still time for them to meet their advised eta. Keep hoping keep putting the positivity out there it will happen and keep the dream alive.

We were told we could expect an answer in October if the vaccine is approved by the APVMA.
Approvals, change of label, cancellations etc are posted in the APVMA Gazette released each fortnight. The next issue is due tomorrow the 20th October... the last one for October, maybe they might tell us in that! I for one have been reading every single one waiting for any mention.
I know by now we are all exhausted and feel defeated by what we’ve had to endure, by the lack of empathy and the lack of help we have received, believe me when I say, I felt like there was no hope when my rabbits died. No one cared, no one could help me and no one can stop my nightmares. But, I picked myself up and I came back with a vengeance with you all in the hope it can still happen! So I want to put it to you, what if, just imagine it, what if tomorrow they actually publish something, what if we read some good news, what if it is actually going to happen....imagine how wonderful that would be....
To be heard.
To be understood.
To have a chance.
To have protection.
What if we just held onto that hope a little longer.
I know I do.
And if it doesn’t happen.... I’ll still hold that hope and keep trying.

But for now, it’s a hope worth holding. If this doesn’t come through for us, never fear, sign up to their gazette, keep emailing, keep putting pressure and asking for updates. Let’s make it happen.

I decided Stanley needs his own appreciation post! I was so thrilled and surprised on his win, up against some lovely rabbits. His fur and colour ended up seeing him through! I was very surprised at that and know I need to keep the fur in my lines. ♥️♥️
