๐ Calling all UK horse and pony owners - can you help the RVC research team?
Is your horse/pony more than 10 years old?
Has it been recently tested for Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction (PPID) also known as Equine Cushings ?
We'd like to hear from you regardless of whether the outcome was negative or positive.
We are investigating the quality of life of older horses both with and without PPID.

Hi guys,
As many of you know, I am in the final year of my Equine Therapy and Rehabilitation degree and as part of my dissertation, I am looking for owners that compete on their horse (shod or barefoot) to participate in one of my surveys.
The surveys aim to gain insight into the thoughts and opinions of both shod and barefoot horse owners regarding barefoot competition horses and compare the results.
Participants need to be over 18 and UK residents. I'll post the links to both below. Thanks in advance.

A bit about me... I have been around horses all my life and worked with them for many years, yet it wasn't until around 7 years ago when their hoofs began to interest me. I started to research into keeping horses barefoot and the benefits of this, I was hooked and quickly became a hoof geek! I absorbed all the information I could find, from books, the internet, clinics and from trimming my own horses, but this never quite satisfied my thirst for knowledge; I had decided I wanted to be a trimmer however finding the right time to begin this journey didn't happen for a few years.
The opportunity came to commit myself fully to becoming a barefoot trimmer and I enrolled into Dan Guerreraโs School of Barehoof Strategy in Norway. I ended my career as a polo groom to focus on my studies and I am pleased to say, passed with honours.
The horse for me is an amazing creature and one of my greatest teachers. I continually strive to learn and advance in my profession to provide the best holistic care for your horse.
The key to great hoofs involves the whole horse, its not just about the trim. I am here to advise on all aspects needed to promote optimum hoof health including diet and environment. Experience has taught me the importance of working with the horse, building trust and understanding; working alongside the owner to create a positive trimming experience.
