BABY MATTY - this is the little boy I told you about in my previous post. He came in during the early hours of Thursday morning, we raced him to the vets for blood tests, and he was given emergency medication. However it was clear from his symptoms that it was neurological, he is mostly blind and is sleeping most if the time, during the first couple of days we had to help him wee and poo, and force feed him. However yesterday and today he has managed to to go to the toilet himself and attempt to to eat. He is doing small circles when walking. We are hoping that time is a great healer💕 He sleeps most of the time, so we are hoping this is helping him repair himself naturally, he is on medication to help possible internal swelling/pain❤️
He is absolutely beautiful, so sweet. I would love for you to help me find a really sweet name for him. At the moment he sleeps with me, he doesn’t move at all, I hope so much we can get him through this.
Thank you everyone for your support to allow us to help them all. Tina 💕💕💕💕
THE VILLAGE - at Filey Cat Rescue, this extended area of the Sanctuary was put up and added to, in order to help a lot of very vulnerable cats and kittens, especially those from the more outdoors type of places, such as our Moors Rescue, and the Catterick cats. The video is a tour to introduce you to some of the residents, I’m sorry it is a long video, but thought you might like to see the beautiful cats, who just want a chance to have a safe and living home, where they might find love for the first time. Thank you for your continued support, because of you,we can help so many cats in need.💕❤️💕
DROP IN SATURDAY - we are open from 11-4 pm every Saturday for you to come round and see us. If you’re thinking about Adopting, Fostering or Volunteering at the Sanctuary or Charity shop, then please drop by and see what we do, you are very welcome.
Tina xx❤️
A BIG THANK YOU 💕
We have had a wonderful drop in day today, I met so many wonderful people, and I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who helps, from the volunteers, to the adopters and foster families, to the man who gives us carpets, to the lady who makes special cards for us, I thank you. For the offers of help to get ready for winter, people giving their most precious time to us to help the cats, I am so grateful. We together will help hundreds of cats a year. We feel you are all friends of Filey Cat Rescue ‘family’💕❤️❤️❤️❤️
AUTUMN DAY at the Sanctuary- please don’t forget our drop in Saturdays here, come along and see what we do , if your thinking of adopting bot fostering, we desperately need your help❤️
Thank you so much for your amazing support. Here and the charity shop, we are truly blessed to have you all. Please share the post if you can
Tina 💕💕
We need YOU! Could you volunteer in our brand new charity shop? 🛍️
A huge “thank you” to everyone who’s visited or donated to our amazing little shop during its opening week. We’re completely overwhelmed by your kindness and generosity and your support means the world to us.
That said, we’re struggling to keep up with all your fabulous donations, so we’re reaching out to see whether anyone would like to join our team of volunteers, sorting, pricing, operating the till, and making/enjoying cups of tea! Our opening hours are 10am–4pm, but we’d love to welcome anyone who can spare a half-day or full day to help us. I’m also running two introductory sessions this week – Wednesday and Thursday between 5pm and 7pm – to show any new recruits how everything works, and would love to see you there.
Please help us if you can. As much as we’d love to be in two places at once, our place is with the 300 cats and kittens at Little Heroes Sanctuary, so we’re relying on our amazing volunteers to help keep the shop going when we need to step away.
If you could spare some time to join our shop team, please get in touch by email ([email protected]) or phone (07796950817). Thank you so much for reading! 🙏🏻

EARLY MORNING WALK - Thought I would just share this with you on this beautiful day. Lots of things happening here. Urgent fosterers needed please, Urgent homes needed for so many cats and kittens, we are heading into Autumn with a lot of babies needing homes, please help and spread the word.
I really appreciate your help as always 💕💕💕
UPDATE. SAM - Hope you remember the lovely Sam, he came to us last week weighing just 1.6 kilos with a huge flea infestation, causing chronic anemia, his temperature was also only 33 degrees.
We have treated him for parasites, and he spent 2 days on IV fluids, but today he went for a checkup and although he is still incredibly poorly he has managed to put weight on and us now at 3 kilos, he us a bug cat and needs a further 2 kilos if weight. But we are very pleased with his progress. I really would like to thank the person who left the lovely bed here at the door today, as this was given to Sam when he got back to the Sanctuary after his vet visit and he loves it❤️
I’m so grateful to the lady in Bridlington who found him, as he would definitely not have survived had she not helped him to safety.
Thank you for caring❤️❤️💕💕
MEET SAM - He was found by a kind member of the public, who was very concerned for his welfare, after ringing around, she called us, and we were very happy to take him. When he arrived I must say we were shocked at how poorly he was.
He was rushed to the vets as an emergency this morning and has been on IV fluids all day, he will return to the vets in the morning to continue IVFluids for a further day, he has a low temperature of 33 degrees, and is acutely anemic due to fleas, he is extremely thin. He is keeping calm and quiet tonight on a hot pad.
Thank you to the lady that made sure he came to us and was not put back in the street, we promise to help him through this and hopefully find a loving home where he never has to go hungry again.
We rely hugely on you all to look out for vulnerable cats and kittens as we believe EVERY CAT COUNTS
Thank you for caring
Tina❤️❤️
SATURDAY DROP IN - every Saturday from 11-3. If you are thinking of Adopting or Fostering. We would love to see you.
So far this week we have found wonderful homes for: Cassie and Socks, Punch and Judy, all four of Ella’s babies and Obi❤️thank you to all those adopters who have given them a family’, please we still urgently need homes for shy cats, senior cats and one cat only cats especially, as well as kittens. Thank you so much, love Tina xx💕💕💕
MEET. JACK JACK - handsome, clever and adorable❤️❤️❤️ Jack Jack came into us about 18 months ago, in a very poorly way, suffering from a gastrointestinal infection, which he was hospitalised for almost a week. He also was not in good place mentally. In time he has begun to trust us and now loves a quiet home but with company. He loves to cuddle, and sleeps with you, he loves his fish flavoured foods, and also enjoys tuna and salmon treats. He is a truly wonderful boy. If you think you could offer him a lovely home, please get intouch
Thank you so much❤️
URGENT HELP - we have four extra units going up this week, in order to try to help desperate cats and kittens, this week alone we have had to bring 18 cats into the sanctuary, as they had no where to go, many of them are pregnant . It is extremely stressful here trying to juggle things to help the most in need, and we know we are approaching 300 cats and kittens. Please if you can offer a home to give any of them a family, where they are safe and will be looked after, get intouch by either filling in the adoption or fostering form or ring me on 07796950817. It is a commitment and you should think about all the costs involved especially for adopting kittens, who will need to be neutered and vaccinated.
Thank you so much. REMEMBER our drop in Saturday’s from 11-3 come and meet us
Thank you so much
Tina xx
SATURDAY DROP IN - please don’t forget, if your thinking of adopting or fostering a cat, why not pop round and meet some of the beautiful cats and kittens here at the sanctuary, who would love to meet you all❤️💕❤️

DECKING KITTENS - UPDATE - All doing really well, they were 125 g when they came in, now they are 170g after just a few days, they have their own little personalities, and the grey baby dreams a lot. Lots of the volunteers have taken their turn at feeding. We are extremely happy, that they are getting stronger.
QUICK UPDATE on Black CAT who for now we are calling Louis who has a badly broken back leg, we are trying to find his owners. Today he has weed which is really good news, hopefully we will have more news on what can be done with his leg in the next couple of days. He is eating and taking his medication. Bless the poor baby
Tina xx❤️
