Amazing Strays is reaching out for help for a beautiful yellow lab mix who desperately needs a holiday miracle. This sweet boy suffered severe abuse at the hands of his owner, resulting in multiple stab wounds. Thankfully, law enforcement intervened, ensuring his safety and placing him in the care of a local humane society. While he is on the path to recovery, he now faces the harsh reality of being alone in a shelter and is at risk of euthanasia due to overcrowding, especially with the holidays approaching. We are seeking a compassionate individual or family who can provide a temporary home for him. He is a neutered, one-year-old dog, fully vaccinated, and all necessary supplies will be provided to ensure his comfort and safety. He simply needs a loving place to stay until he can find his forever home. Could you be the one to offer him that chance?

Meet Pepper, a delightful terrier mix weighing about 20 pounds and just 1.5 years old. He was brought to us after his previous owner could no longer care for him. Although he spent time at the SD Humane Society, a compassionate individual stepped in to provide him with a loving foster home. Pepper would do best in a household without cats and would thrive with older or dog-savvy children. He enjoys playing fetch, walks nicely on a leash, and has excellent recall when off-leash. Fully house-trained, he sleeps soundly through the night and is friendly with other dogs, especially those his size. Plus, he’s a big fan of cuddling. This delightful boy is named Lucky, reflecting the fortune we felt when he joined the ASR program. He’s around a year old weighing in around 45lbs. He arrived with a severely injured leg that required urgent care, but thanks to the vet's skill, he has made a full recovery and can now walk and play joyfully. Additionally, he underwent a minor eye surgery to alleviate some discomfort, and now his vision is perfect. Lucky thrives on walks, loves meeting new friends, and enjoys playing with other dogs, embodying happiness in every moment. Come join us at SD Shelters Santa Paws Adoption Event on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 11am-3pm. This event will have multiple rescues and give families the opportunity to meet hundreds of adoptable pups. Bring home a loving family member just in time for the holidays!

Our mission is simple: to find forever homes for as many pets as possible. The event is FREE to attend, and all we ask is that you come with an open heart and a willingness to provide a second chance to a homeless animal. This is your chance to meet your four-legged soulmate and make a life-changing difference for an animal in need. See you there! ❤️🐶

🐾🚨Foster/ Adopt Paddington🚨🐾

Paddington's journey has been a heartbreaking one. Abandoned at just 9 years old in a ditch in Mexico, he faced neglect before finding refuge in our Amazing Grays program after a thorough medical assessment. He is crate trained and enjoys pleasant walks on a leash, sleeping peacefully at night and getting along well with both cats and dogs. Due to his age, he needs more frequent potty breaks and has some mobility challenges, making a home with minimal stairs ideal for him. Although he is experiencing some vision loss and may show signs of dementia, he adores cuddling and finds joy in lounging on the couch. While he can be a little protective of his food and appreciates some space during meals, he truly is a gentle giant at heart.

Ollie is an adorable little fellow with four legs and only three feet. He was saved from euthanasia after being abandoned by an uncaring owner. Despite his challenges with balance, his lively spirit is undeniable, showcasing that wonderful things can come in small sizes at just 25 pounds. At around 2 years old, this playful and affectionate pup has a touch of shyness but warms up quickly, especially to women. Men may need a little more time to earn his trust, but a delicious treat can make a big difference. He is currently attending training classes to help him overcome his fear of strangers. This week, we want to highlight the numerous adorable puppies and litters currently in our rescue. We have the lovely mama Nelly with her two precious pups, the charming pitch perfect crew, the playful little rascals, and the delightful reindeer litter. These puppies are growing quickly and will require a lot of care before they find their forever homes. Essential supplies for them include puppy pads, dry puppy food, and wet puppy food. You can choose to sponsor an individual puppy or an entire litter, and your contributions will help cover the many necessities they need. These charming puppies are eager to find a loving foster home in the U.S. before Christmas. At about 10 weeks old, they have received their second round of vaccinations and are beginning to discover their surroundings while honing their puppy etiquette. Thought to be a mix of terrier and Chihuahua, we are also supporting the spaying and neutering of their parents to prevent further unplanned litters. Fostering during the holiday season is a rewarding way to help, especially as rescues work tirelessly to save as many dogs as they can.

Just a short time ago, Rose and her adorable puppies were facing a heartbreaking future on the euthanasia list at Bakersfield Animal Shelter due to an upper respiratory infection. In February, Rose and her puppies embarked on their freedom ride, so we affectionately named them the Valentines litter, a perfect symbol of the love that saved them. 🐾🐶Foster Needed by Friday 7/12🐶🐾 George and the team at Amazing Strays are looking for a special soul and wondering if that could be you? George is 10 years old and looking for a forever home where he could be loved and cherished with the support of Amazing Strays for life! George was found by a lovely couple in Mexico living with a group of dogs that they were assisting to feed. It was very clear that this guy at one point had a family and was dumped through no fault of his own. Due to this, poor guy takes a little while to warm up, but as long as you give him some space he becomes your best friend like nothing! Now in his golden years and on the streets, we knew we could do better for him! We scooped him up to become an Amazing Gray! When you walk into his back yard, he is the happiest guy hoarding all the tennis balls he can find as he is obsessed with them. He loves playing with toys and is likely the most gentle treat taker you will ever come across. Get this-he even enjoys the water! He lives with another dog in the home, but is mostly ambivalent and happy to hang out for companionship and sunbathing! Due to his age, he does have some decreased mobility so pain meds, joint supplements and a yard are all key to his success and he easily gets into a routine! He is overall an easy going guy who is happy to nap and sunbathe throughout the day with an occasional adventure! He would do well with a backyard. No cats.
