We are heartbroken by the wildfires affecting Los Angeles County. We want to offer our help to those who are evacuating with their beloved pets. Sadly, many of the places they are heading to may not allow pets. This is where we can make a difference by providing a temporary safe space for any cats or dogs in need. Fostering is completely free, and we will supply everything necessary for their care.

🐾🚨Update on Tessie🚨🐾

Remember that sweet young pregnant mama that we took in from the streets of Mexico right before Christmas? Her fosters have now named her Tessie. This morning, she faced complications during labor, leading to an emergency c-section due to her exhaustion and size. Thankfully, both Tessie and her six puppies—three boys and three girls—are on the road to recovery. Although Tessie’s milk hasn't come in yet, her dedicated foster family is committed to monitoring and feeding her little ones. Taking in pregnant dogs can be challenging and costly, as we've seen in this situation. Your support through donations would greatly help cover Tessie’s unexpected medical expenses.

Maisie is an adorable lowrider, tipping the scales at 45 pounds and exuding warmth and affection. Rescued from a packed kill shelter alongside her puppies, all of whom have found loving homes, she is now on the lookout for her forever family. At approximately 1.5 years old, she has an unquenchable passion for belly rubs, often rolling onto her back to invite cuddles. Once she opens up she is the most delightful companion, she relishes both leisurely strolls and longer hikes. While she gets along well with cats, she requires gradual introductions to dogs to feel comfortable. Thriving in group walks, she has also learned new tricks during her time in foster care. Fully house and leash trained, she sleeps peacefully through the night. Although she may initially be shy around newcomers, a short pack walk and some treats, she quickly warms up and becomes a cherished friend once she feels safe. Maisie just needs someone who understands a little patience needs to be given to a rescue pup.

🐾 A Day in the Life of a Rescue🐾 Yesterday was a deeply impactful day for our rescue team. We had dedicated volunteers who successfully rescued 6 dogs from a high-kill shelter in Bakersfield. Our rescue founder, Lisa, also made a significant effort by transporting several puppies to Mexico for their spay/neuter appointments, and she managed to save two pregnant mothers, placing them in safe foster homes just in time for the holidays.
