So... I have Lyme disease. I wish I hadn't had to have x-rays and sedation in order to rule out any bone issues, but my bones are all fine and the limping is due to the Lyme. Twas a long, expensive day at the vet, and I'm ready to hide under the covers.

Waiting patiently at our vet - I've been limping and we're here to see what's going on. Paws crossed it isn't serious!

Yes, yes, yes, today is New Year's Day. But more importantly, it's MY Gotcha Day. Seven years ago, mom stood alone in a freezing cold airport in Pittsburgh, so drained from the previous weeks back-and-forth emotional and financial rollercoaster, waiting for me. It was QUITE a trip. I arrived (terrified), walked into a basement apartment full of cats (which I luckily immediately loved), and stole her heart.

I was a good boy this year.

All of you with cats and dogs will understand my relief this morning when Otto p**ped! I was actually crying in the street, hand in bag, taking care of his business. Not a huge one but yesterday was the first day I could cajole him into eating anything (deli chicken breast for the win), so I'll take it. He's much more "Otto" today.

Slowly he returns. Had a great walkie, a tiny p**p, then minimal interest in breakfast. It's hard to see my extremely-food-motivated boy not empty his plate, so the recovery continues (and luckily his disinterest doesn't extend to cheese).

We're home, tired (and a good deal poorer), but ok. Mr. Fizz had blood work done (which was unremarkable), a quickie ultrasound, and a dose of anti-nausea drugs. I'll be watching him here to see if it passes, if not we'll head back for a full, proper ultrasound to see what's going on. Here's to a relaxing night (and a non-puking day with some good eating tomorrow). Thanks everyone for your good thoughts, it really, really helps when you're sitting in an emergency vet on your own. ❤️
