Not everyone is going to understand how deep the grief you feel really is. They may tell you to get over it, it’s ’just a dog’ ‘it’s just a cat’. But they are not ‘just’. A pet is around you more than anyone else. They are always there. That loss creates an empty space in your heart. It is real. It is valid. Find the people who do support you. We are everywhere, and we understand. We really, really do.

Leaves, nature, peace, tranquility. Thoughts that inspired me to create this urn for you. Their spirit flows through all of nature, and I wanted to capture that feeling.

With loss comes emptiness. Something missing. An empty space. We look at this empty space with sadness, with longing. We think there is less of us now. A hole in our being.

What we tend to miss is something huge. That empty space does not have to stay empty. We can choose to fill it with love. We can choose to fill it with beautiful memories and celebration. We can have it overflow with abundance.

It is in our power to fill our lives with love. Even after some love is lost. There is so much love in the world. We can find it in so many ways.

Grief can put up a wall against all this love. Grief can make us alone. But we are stronger than that. We can open our hearts. We can allow all the love in the world inside.

We just need to let it.

It hits us at the hardest time. A time when our head is unclear, filled with grief, loss, maybe shock. We usually tend to outlive out pets, but still, when they die, it almost always is a shock. Even if we know it is coming, the depth of pain and loss is what creates the shock. We do not imagine, in advance, what it will feel like. It is an awful time to have to think of something as basic as a cremation urn, and, honestly, I sometimes feel so awkward sharing my work because of this. But I am here to fill this need for you.

We have to remember some days are just for us. We need days to sit in our our grief, acknowledge our loss, find our balance again. Everything is cyclical, but we need to let it happen. Accept the bottom turn, knowing it will be light again.
