It’s much better to trim back nails more frequently, so that the quick recedes. Dogs walk better, slip less, and have better posture and long bone health, having short nails.

This is the best explanation of true socialization I’ve seen. It takes true effort on the part of new owners to expose young puppies to all kinda of things to have a stable, balanced adult dog that isn’t fearful.

On Monday, August 9th, the Pickens County Animal Shelter will have one more day of free adoptions. There are quite a few wonderful dogs and cats available. They are all fully vaccinated and spayed / neutered. They are open from 10 am to 5. 706-253-8983.

Please consider the 3/3/3 rule if adopting. They have been through enough and being in a shelter for even a short time they will need some time for decompression!

It really doesn’t matter if your dog is friendly or not.

What matters is that you don’t take the choice away from another owner (and their dog) as to who they interact with.

There can be so many reasons why a dog and their owner need space from you and your dog.

Please allow them that choice 💙
