Finally after being under the weather since about July 4th, I finally was able to groom Brody. Boy did he need it along with my girls. I’ll try to catch up on the girls over the next two weeks as I just started back to grooming a few clients dogs the last 2 weeks starting off with 1 to 2 hours only 3 days a week with physical therapy on the other days. Here are 2 photos of Brody after today’s grooming and coat conditioning. Boy am I whipped!

Great news from the Flocker’s. Their Vigo/Tootsie pup, Porto, showed for his first time at the Flagstaff Kennel Club AKC show today in the 6 to 9 month Puppy Dog class and did very well. Porto won his class and then went RWD. The judge was giving him a good look. What a great start for this young boy. Sister Lexi gives two paws up to her brother 🐾

I am possibly looking for a perfect home for a show quality young adult male. OFA prelim’s on hips and elbows came back Good/Normal. First eye exam Normal. ECHO heart clear. Super pedigree. Co own and prefer AZ home. PM for more info and to apply and interview. Might also have a girl. I WILL BE VERY PICKY on selected homes. CANNOT be altered and will be shown when ring ready.

Woo hoo! Brody and Katie both passed on their cardiologist auscultations heart exams today. They’ve already passed on their Ophthalmologist eye exams and hip and elbow prelim’s. So now we just wait for 2 year old hip and elbow finals next May and ECHO’s on their hearts when they come available at an upcoming show or clinic. Hoping my foot gets fixed soon so I can continue to show them perhaps this Fall. Good job Brody and Katie 🥰

Abbey, Tootsie and little Lexi had their eyes 👀examined by Eye Care for Animals yesterday and all three girls passed as Normal with no Breeder options. Yay!!!

Second day results of the SWKC UKC shows for Katie and Brody. Today was Brody’s day to shine ☀️ Brody won both of his Breeder Handled classes and then went on to be selected for Best Male and Best of Winners for both shows and then won Show 1 Best of Breed. He also won Gun Dog Group 2 at Show 1. Thank you Laura Jack for stepping in to handle the Brode Man to try to save my foot ❤️ Katie won both her classes and got 2 RWB. First day of UKC shows and the kids did awesome. Brody was in the 6 to 12 puppy male class at Show 1 and 2 and won his class and Reserve Winner at both. These were Katie’s first shows and she won both of her Breeders classes along with Best Female in both shows. In show 2 Katie also won Best of Winners and Best of Breed. She then went on to win Gun Dog Group 1! Both kids are 10 months old. Not going to stick around for BIS Puppy for Brody or Regular BIS for Katie in hopes of saving my foot so I can show again tomorrow. Will be heading home to ice it down and get the weight off of it for the rest of the day and back in the boot. Photo below of Katie with her Group 1 awards. So proud of these two youngsters 🥰

Brody at vets office today. Sunday morning he was fine. Went to work on one of our rental homes at 1 pm and when I got home at 8 pm he was limping terrible on his left front foot. He’s been pacing back and forth in my turn out area as 2 of my girls are in season with one being his sister. Gave him some yucca powder and canine aspirin. Called vet the next day as he was still limping and got an appointment for today. Of course he’s not limping today nor showing any pain at all for the vet and has great flexion. I’m still going to have them do X rays on his foot up to his knee just for a baseline. We know his elbows and hips are good as I had prelim’s done on him and his sister a little over a month ago and both passed on those. Of course this all happened when I was getting ready to enter him in shows coming up in April, so I’ve held off on sending in his entries for now.

$50 total for Lexi’s mini exam, microchip, rabies shot and last combo shot. She was a very good girl and loved all the attention she got from the staff working the CABRA clinic. Normally I like to space out the shots, but the timing was off this time in her case ❤️

Vaccination and microchipping clinic tomorrow, March 17th, put on by CABRA. Microchips are Home Again for only $20. Vaccinations are only $15 each if your dog/pup is already microchipped or getting one the same day and $20 each if not chipped. Hours are 9 am to 2 pm and no appointment is taken as it is first come first served. Location is 4341 E. Broadway Rd, Phoenix which is roughly 43rd Street and Broadway at the University of Arizona Maricopa County Cooperative Extension Office. Vaccination and microchips are given by a Vet and includes a short physical exam. I like to support this non profit rescue organization so Lexi and I will be going tomorrow for her microchip and Rabies shot. CABRA holds these clinics every other month so the next two are May 12th and July 21st.

My newest look. Lucky me. Need to be in a boot for at least 4 weeks. I finally got podiatrist to have an MRI done on my right foot last week and it shows moderate anterior tibial insertional tendinopathy and peritendinitis. She’s trying to prevent a rupture and surgery. Sure wish I could’ve convinced her to have an MRI done when I went the first part of January 🙁 My PT guy for my right leg and back issue will adjust my PT program with them so as to not interfere with the foot issue. Hoping to be ready for shows in April 🤞
