I love working with is guy!!!

This is Goose, he is a 2 year old Belgian Malinois, German Shepard cross. This guy I has been a joy to work with. He is incredibly smart and he loves to learn. His family’s goals are for him to become a replacement service dog.

Goose is a very friendly dog and has never met a stranger. So we worked a lot on impulse control. Siting and laying down beside other dogs and not greating them. This was very hard for him but he picked up on what I wanted very quickly. He is going to do great things.

Stay tuned for more on Goose!

Say hello to Grace!

Grace is a 1 year old mix. Her family brought her to me for basic manners and basic training. Getting to know Grace has been a ball of fun! She is extremely intelligent and has a lot of energy. Grace came for a 10 day training session.

During these lessons she learned sit, down, stay, place, heal on a lose lead and basic manners. Keep up the good work Grace!

Let me know if you are interested in taking classes with me or signing up for a day stay.

Say hello to Bear! Bear is on his way to becoming an ESA dog. Bears’s family puts a lot of work into training him. He knew his basic commands. How to quickly calm down in stressful situations.

Bear’s family was looking for someone to bring him to the next level. While bear was with me, I learned that one of his main struggles was impulse control. He loved acting on impulse to go see people, dogs, kids, chase cats etc…

We worked on siting and waiting for people to come up to him. Sitting or laying down while other dogs walked past or even just laid down next to him. This can be very hard for dogs and at first it was very difficult for Bear. However, bear quickly came to love doing these exercises. Sitting and waiting at a distance from me in the stores and walking past yipping dogs. This little guy came far in such a short time and I am immensely proud of him. He learned off leash work, and some service dog work as well.

Afterwards his family took a couple lessons with me to learn how to better communicate with Bear. This team is going to go far! Keep up the good work!

Winkie, one of my resent day stays came to me for reactivity to people. She would bark, growl and nip at people that would walk past her or try to interact with her. Here she is at Home Depot, calmly waking through the store past many people. I am so proud of this girl. She came so far in the short time I had her and I loved working with her.

Thanks to Winkie’s fantastic family, she was able to get the help she needed. Winkie keep up the good work!

Say Hello to Lucy!!! Lucy came to us for a 6 day day stay for basic manners. She struggled with impulse control, calmly meeting people and dogs, walking on a lose lead, basic manners and more. During her lessons we went over all of this and I am so proud of her. She has been a joy to work with and I loved seeing her transition from a dog with anxiety to a sweet heart with confidence. Good job Lucy you have wonderful parents keep up the good work!

Recently I have had a lot of people asking me questions about what the difference is between a Service dog, Therapy Dog and Emotional Support Dog. It is important to know the laws surrounding your working dog. So I found a little graphic to help everyone.

Rue is our newest member in training and we have been working on a lot of different things. On her third day here, we started learning retrieve

Teaching a pup to retrieve can be very helpful later in life. It is the basics of learning certain tasks. Such as picking up dropped objects. Retrieve can also be paired with other training to practice impulse control.

Sadie found her forever home a few weeks ago and I couldn’t be happier for her. She will be dearly missed ❤️. It’s crazy to think of where she came from and where she is headed. I took a few pictures of her last week with me. She went to Home Depot for the first time and we practiced tuck.

Tuck is a service dog move that is important to learn in order to make room for people to navigate smaller areas such as doctors offices, waiting rooms etc…. Sadie won’t be a service dog, just a very sweet family pet, but teaching different tricks is beneficial for the brain. Keeping a dog constantly learning and having fun builds a foundation of focus and enjoyment not only for her family but for Sadie as well.

Congratulations to Sadie’s family!

Love these girls! ❤️

We went to Murdocks for a quick shopping spree and stopped to get a picture. Several shoppers 🛍 stoped to watch 👀 these girls work.

Later, while we were waiting in line patiently we had a couple dogs 🐕 trying to drag their handlers to my girls. They did so good. Completely ignored the the other dogs. ❤️

Expectations Dog Training

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read through our story and looking throughout our page. All places have a beginning and our story began when we first started training dogs in 2007. During this time we worked on bettering our dogs for upcoming competitions. Both of us enjoyed the excitement, pressure and relief when making a perfect run and decided to share what we have learned through those years with you! So in 2016, Expectations Dog Training was established and has been growing ever since!

The first two dogs that started everything as you can say was Lilly and Teddy who were both English Bulldogs. We were so thankful to have two wonderful dogs that taught us about patience and perservance during our 4-H showing years. Teddy made it to the Graduate obedience level in 4-H but sadly passed away shortly after. She was phenomenal and was always good for a laugh in the ring! Lilly, who is Teddy’s best friend continued on and passed every obedience level on up to Utility. She retired in 2019 from showing at age ten. Lilly absolutely loves to show and cherished all the clapping at the end of her performance but I decided it was best for her to retire and spend the rest of her days enjoying life. She is still going strong at eleven years old and hope to have her for a few more years!

After the passing of Teddy, Maisy was introduced into our lives. Maisy is Erin’s Golden Retriever who was the first dog to take us to the AKC competitions. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting people with similar hopes to our own and so our love for training grew! Throughout the years we have added a few different dogs to our pack. All different ages, personalities and backstories! Each dog is such a treasure which is why we believe every dog should have the chance to become an incredible, obedient dog with there owner.

Throughout our page we love to showcase what we are working on with each dog. Every one of our dogs have a gift that we love to share. Everything from Ellie chasing discs, Sangria hunting or performing tricks, Archer focus in obedience, or Maisy retrieving tennis balls off the lake. We specialize in any type of obedience, tricks, discs, therapy, and so much more!
