A year ago today, our Orange Julius (along with The Nanna and Papa and a goat) had to be evacuated by boat from the flood waters in Acy, Louisiana. Bahdu the goat had evacuated to Papa's barn just four days earlier, after his home went under water in Denham Springs, LA.
Less than 8 weeks prior to the flood, Julius nearly died from acute liver failure. @Cypresslakeanimalhospital took wonderful care of Julius (known as Fatty back then), and The Nanna was able to nurse him back to health (and to gain 7 pounds). Julius came back to Texas with The Mamma in September 2016 because he didn't have a home of his own anymore, and The Mamma & The Nanna didn't think he'd be ok living in a camper for an extended period of time. He's currently enjoying life as a TexaCat (except for his diet) and will be a member of The Eclectic Pack indefinitely.
