Everest is a stunning 5-year-old female Akita looking for her forever home. Everest is at the centre over 2 years now, she deserves a home to finally call her own 🙏🏻

Everest is a gentle soul who can be shy around strangers, but once she warms up, she’s the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet. Playful, affectionate, and a big fan of walks, Everest is ready to bring joy to your life.

She might enjoy living with a male dog (pending a meet-and-greet) or would be perfectly happy as your one-and-only. Dog-savvy teenagers are no problem for her, but she’ll need an experienced Akita owner who understands her special charm.

Everest must live and sleep inside the home as part of the family and she needs a fully enclosed garden with minimum 5ft fencing.

💕 PIXIE NEEDS A FOSTER HOME 💕

Are you the one who can help Pixie?

Pixie is a sweet 2-year-old husky girl who has endured so much in her short life. Having spent most of her time in a back garden with very little human interaction, Pixie was recently surrendered to us and has since undergone two emergency surgeries.

This brave little girl is now in foster care, where her foster mom is doing a wonderful job, but Pixie isn’t getting along with the resident dogs and needs something extra—focused, 1:1 care in a special foster home.

Pixie needs a foster home where she can be the only pet. She needs a foster that has experience with dogs and has the patience needed for her training. She would do well with a family that has older, dog-savvy children who understand her needs. Ideally, someone would be home during the day to give her the time, training, exercise, and love she deserves.

Pixie is a very anxious little girl but we know she can thrive with the right support.

🐾 SEKI 🐾

Seki is looking for a foster or forever home urgently through no fault of his own. His owner is moving country later in the month and can’t take Seki with him.

This friendly, affectionate, and energetic boy is full of personality and charm. Seki will have a chat with you but he’s not as vocal as some Huskies. Seki thrives on human interaction and will quickly become your best friend.

He has a basic understanding of training and listens well—when it suits him! With patience and consistency, he’ll continue to learn. Seki is looking for a home where he can live indoors and be close to his people. A secure, enclosed garden with at least 6 ft fencing is a must to keep this active boy safe during outdoor playtime.

Seki could live with a spayed female dog after a successful meet-and-greet and could also do well with children who understand and respect his space. However, we don’t know how Seki would be with cats.

Hi! We’re Kieda & Nala. We’re a beautiful pair of huskies looking for our forever family!

I’m Kieda, 7 years old, and this is my daughter Nala, who’s 5. We share a special bond and love having fun together—just wait until you see us curled up in bed at the end of the day!

We’re friendly and full of life, ready to bring joy and affection to everyone we meet. We’d love to stay together in our new home. If you have a male dog, we might be okay with him if we meet him first, but no cats for us please.

💙 BRUNO 💙

Bruno is a 2 year old male Akita, he is a special boy with a big heart! Born with a deformity in his front legs, he’s already had one surgery and will be having another next year. But don’t let that fool you—he absolutely loves his walks and is very well behaved on a lead.

Bruno’s Ideal Home:
🐾 He might be able to live with a female dog after a successful meet and greet.
🐾 No cats, please.
🐾 Adults and older teens (16+) would be the best fit for Bruno’s energy and personality.

Despite his challenges, Bruno is full of life—playful, friendly, and always ready to bounce around without a care in the world. Everyone who meets him falls in love with his charm and character.

So these 2 boys need our help urgently, life or death situation 😭. The first boy, a 2yr old Akita is in the pound and his time is ticking, no other rescue will take him out. The 2nd boy is 10 months old and he was brought into a vets today to be put to sleep because he needs some training, he is supposed to be a husky cross. The vets haven't put him to sleep but we really need to get him out, urgently. What we need is people to foster dogs that we already have here at the centre to make room for them, so they can be fully assessed. 💫A little star 🌟

Callie arrived at the centre a broken girl. She lay in the field shaking and in total fear of the unknown that it took us hours to get her into a kennel.
After weeks of trying to help her she has now been adopted and living with another rescue buddy from HRI 😊
She is doing amazing and we couldn’t be happier for her, thanks to Lynda McCarthy and family she is living her life to the fullest, living the dream with her mom and dad.
We love the transformation with our rescue kids it truly is heartwarming 💙

🐾 I’m Ralph, a 7-year-old male Akita. I can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but that’s just because I’m a big softy at heart. Once I warm up to you, I’ll be your loyal companion, and you’ll see my sweet, gentle side. Having Ryker around helps me feel more comfortable, so I’m really hoping we can find a home together.

Hi! I’m Hanna, a 2-year-old Husky Shepherd cross. The volunteers here at the centre affectionately call me “Hanna Banana”, probably because of my playful, friendly personality 🐾🎾

I can’t wait to find my forever home! I’d love to be part of an active family since I have plenty of energy and adore playing. I might get along well with a male dog if we have a chance to meet first. Older, dog-savvy kids would be great too! I’m super friendly and love people, but I might accidentally bump into small children when I get excited and show off my zoomies.

🐾💙 BEAR 💙🐾

Hi there, I’m Bear! I’m a 7-year-old male Akita, and I’ve been told I’m quite the character. Like most Akitas, I have my typical traits, but I’ve also got my own special quirks that make me one of a kind. I’m a gentle soul at heart, though I can be a little cautious around strangers at first. Don’t worry—it doesn’t take me long to warm up and let my playful side shine through.

I’m a confident and independent boy, and I like to spend time in my own company now and then. At the centre, my favorite spot is the trampoline, where I can relax and watch the world go by—it’s so peaceful up there! When it comes to walking, I’m an absolute dream. You’d hardly notice my size because I’m so easygoing on the lead. And let’s not forget playtime—I love a good game of chase or hide and seek.

I’d prefer to be the only dog in my new home, and I’m not a fan of cats. I need a garden that’s fully secure, but no outdoor living for me please, I have to live inside with my new family. Good evening folks. A little update on Mammy and pups but also a plea for help! I really need help with transport and I'm setting up a new WhatsApp group for transport only! I honestly can't keep doing this without the extra help as I'm completely exhausted, both mentally and physically. It will mainly be dogs coming and going from foster homes or to and from the vets etc. We need help all over the country so please send me your number if you want to be added to the new group. We do have another group the team use but if you can't help in that 1 (as I know some people are busy) then please don't join this 1. Thank you, Andy ❤️

YOSHI - 04/11/2024 - a day to remember 💫 As you know we lost Yoshi the gentleman of the centre yesterday, a sweet sweet boy who loved everyone very much and everyone loved him 💙 Today we pay a tribute to him in the 7 years of his short life just because he deserves it! Society failed him big time, he was a broken dog before he came to us and he continued to be until his last breath but there was one thing about him and that was the fight he had in him that made us so very proud of him and happy that he loved being here every single minute! It is a rescue centre but there is one sure thing we love every single dog like our own. We make their days here special, we show them all the love in the world because before us they where failed and our priority is the dogs happiness and to experience love like never before and Auntie Orla took him out on trips to give him the special things he deserved 💙 Yoshi was one of those dogs and he never failed to amuse us, from stealing blankets, toys or anything he could from the others to make his own pad as comfy as possible and rightly so. He had a pen full of toys that he could start a fundraiser by selling them but this made him happy which made us happy. He really was an amazing dog, a kindred spirit and a loving soul 💙 May he rest in peace and be out of pain, may he fly as high as he can and shine so bright like the diamond he was 💫 We will miss you and we will love you always. Be happy Yoshi 💙
