Hello everyone โบ๏ธ!! I was working in Mastic with Emily and her German Shepherd named Hudson ๐ถ. I worked with Emily and Hudson about a year ago until their family experienced some personal issues which delayed the continuation of our training. They recently contacted me again to see if we could pick up where we left off and do some fine tuning. As you can see by Emilyโs demonstration, she has done an incredible job keeping up with Hudsonโs obedience ๐! Training does not stop when our sessions do, and requires a strong pack leader who is passionate and committed! Way to go Emily and Hudson ๐!! Hello everyone ๐!! I was at the Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter doing some training with one of their amazing volunteers, Diane, as well as Dianeโs rescue dog from the Brookhaven shelter named Mya. Mya was struggling with her reactivity, meaning she was overreacting to common stimuli in the environment such as people or other dogs. We made great progress by shutting Myaโs reactivity switch off, and Diane learned how to be a stronger pack leader. Way to go, Diane and Mya!! ๐๐

Hello everyone โบ๏ธ!! I was working in Calverton again with TomTom ๐ถ and BeeBee ๐ถ and their owner Sally. A few months ago I worked with them after TomTom and BeeBee got into a fight with another dog within the home. During this lesson, we continued to work on pack structure, pack leadership, and the heel command. These two dogs might be little, but theyโve got big personalities which requires strong pack leadership!! Sally did a great job ๐!! Alice is very self directed and listens really well when she wants to, but she doesnโt always want to lol! Hello everyone โบ๏ธ! I was working in Rocky Point with Calypso ๐ถ and her owner for their first lesson. Calypso is an overly reactive German Shepherd, and in her case this means she reacts unnecessarily to stimulus in her environment that cause her to feel fear. For my safety, and that of Calypso, we had her wear a muzzle. A muzzle is an incredibly effective tool when used correctly, allowing a dog to safely experience a new or fearful situation without hurting itself or anyone else. Calypso wanted to come after me when I first met her, but with the muzzle, I was able to safely implement corrections, and by the time we filmed this video, Calypso trusted me enough to let me pet her without showing signs of fear or distress. Safety is the most important part of owning or interacting with a dog, as well as pack leadership. Hello everyone ๐!! I was working in Shirley with Lola ๐ถ and her owner. Lola is a sweet rescue dog with a LOT of energy! Structure and routine are extremely beneficial for high energy dogs because it helps them know what to expect, when to expect it, and therefore be able to calm down faster, and remain calm all together. This was Lolaโs first lesson and she did great! We worked on her heel command, and how to walk properly on a leash. Iโll be back for four more lessons! Slow and steady wins the race ๐! Hello everyone โบ๏ธ!! I was working in Mastic with Kim and her beautiful Pitbull named Johnny ๐ถ. Johnny is the sweetest boy who loves giving love and being loved! Like most Pitbulls, Johnny is incredibly strong, so when he would pull when walking on a leash it would become incredibly challenging for Kim to maintain control. Hello everyone โบ๏ธ! I was working in East Patchogue with Bob, and his eleven month old rescue dog named Tilly ๐ถ. Tilly is sweet as can be, but was having a hard time focusing on her commands because of distractions in her environment. We worked on proper leash walking, and redirection to commands when distractions arose. Tilly and Bob did great!! Thereโs nothing I love more than helping rescue dogs ๐ถโบ๏ธโค๏ธ!! Hello everyone โบ๏ธ! I was working in Shirley with Elvis ๐ถ and his owner Juan. Elvis is a handsome boy, but was very aggressive around people and other animals. This was my first time working with Elvis, and earlier on in the lesson I had a muzzle on him for everyoneโs safety. As you can see, after some corrections and lots of hotdogs ๐, Elvis began to trust and respect me and we were able to remove the muzzle. Just like any tool, when used correctly and appropriately, a muzzle can work wonders in safely desensitizing a dog to a variety of stimuli in different situations. Hello everyone โบ๏ธ! I was working in Holbrook with Blue ๐ถ and her owner. Blue is a 14 month old German Shorthaired Pointer who was struggling with extreme reactivity when seeing other dogs. When a dog has a reactive response to stimuli, it means that their reaction to that stimuli is more intense than needed. With Blue, her โswitchโ was always on, meaning that she was always ready to overreact. After having unsuccessful results with four previous trainers, Blues owners were feeling at the end of their ropes! On my first lesson with Blue, I was able to implement the necessary corrections at the correct times resulting in successfully shutting Blues switch off, and I worked with her owner so that she could do the same. High drive dogs benefit from routinely confident pack leadership, and Blues owner did an amazing job learning how to be a strong and confident pack leader!! Way to go ๐!!
