I came across this old photo of a survey I gave to a client back in 2022 when I first started pet sitting. I wanted to make sure I was providing the best care possible. Totally forgot I did this—and it made me laugh! It’s wild to look back and see how much things have grown since then.

Client recommendation who doesn't have Facebook:

Teddy's mom said, "We love Gabby from Preferred Pet Sitter. She sits for our Chow, Teddy. We went overseas for three weeks last year. Gabby stayed at our house and took great care of Teddy; he loves her. We trust her implicitly and she provides an excellent service. We just got back from a week long business trip. Gabby stayed at the house with Teddy again. He misses her. That says it all."

I had to jump on the action figure trend because growing up I was obsessed with Barbies. Nothing beat the thrill of walking into Toys R Us and picking out a Barbie from a wall full of choices. I’ll never forget the one Barbie my mom wouldn’t let me open because it held sentimental value. The little stinker I was couldn’t resist and opened it. Sorry, Mom.

I hope you all get a kick out of these hilariously creepy (but lovable) action figure designs!

Now for something more personal—Preferred Pet Sitter just turned ONE! I can’t believe how fast this year has flown by. What a ride it’s been. I want to take a moment to thank my incredible team and all of our amazing clients. Your support has made this dream possible, and I am endlessly grateful.

This business has helped me grow in so many ways—both personally and professionally—and I truly can’t thank all of you enough for sticking with us through every high and low. Our mission has always been simple: to provide the most loving, reliable care for your fur babies, and we’re just getting started.

Isabelle, thank you for restoring my faith in people. I was so worried I’d never find someone trustworthy, kind, and dependable to bring into the PPS family—but then you showed up. Your dedication and love for our clients and their pets never go unnoticed. I’m beyond lucky to have you by my side girly!!

And Paul… what can I say? Some people may not be aware of this, but Paul works a full-time job and still helps me manage both of my businesses. 90% of the time I want to whack him over the head with a metal bucket, but that other 10%? I’m seriously, deeply grateful to have such a supportive and incredible partner. 😂

This past year has been hard on me personally, but thanks to our amazing clients—both furry and human—and my sweet Lola girl, there’s been light in even the darkest days. Thank you all for being a part of this journey.

Here’s to another year of love, wagging tails, and unforgettable memories. 💜🩷

Tiny Tina, may you rest in peace, sweet girl. I’m so grateful that I had the chance to give you a kiss goodbye today. You brought so much joy and love to your parents and your brother, Ike. You will be deeply missed.

When I first met Tina, she was incredibly shy, always hiding from me, while Ike was a bit more outgoing and social. But after Ike passed, Tina started to come out of her shell. I truly cherished the moments when she let me get close to her. She had such a strong personality—especially when it came to asking for food or treats!

Keep basking in the sunshine in heaven, beautiful girl. You will always be remembered.

Today is a day I wish I didn’t have to acknowledge. Unfortunately, we’ve lost one of our beloved Preferred Pet Sitter mascots, Buddy.

I first met Buddy on July 31st, 2022, and, admittedly, I was a little nervous to meet him, as his wonderful mom mentioned that he liked to bite toes. But from the moment I met him, I fell in love. He reminded me so much of my first dog, Coco. Both Buddy and Coco had Bichon Frise in their DNA, and in that moment, I knew we would share something special.

Paul, Lola, and I are so grateful for the time we had with Buddy, but it wasn’t nearly long enough. There are so many things I’ll miss about him:

- How good he always smelled. Smelling his little baby paws was intoxicating haha.
- How sometimes we couldn’t find him, only to discover he was curled up in the most random, cozy spots—like a laundry basket or in a chest full of blankets.
- His little run and that adorable prance/waddle of his.
- His beautiful relationship with Lola, filled with love and companionship.
- His excited greeting whenever he saw Paul, Lola, or me—he had such a joyful spirit.
- Watching Paul and Buddy wrestle playfully, with Buddy always ready to attack.
- How protective he was of the people he loved.
- His little tongue that would hang out from time to time, adding to his charm.
- His handsome face and sweet demeanor.
- His enthusiasm when he’d jump into my car for a sleepover.
- And, of course, how he would claim the entire bed and leave me hanging off of the side.

Buddy, you will always hold a special place in our hearts. You brought so much joy to our lives, and we’ll never forget you. Rest in peace, sweet boy. We love you, Bubbas.
