Today is a day I wish I didn’t have to acknowledge. Unfortunately, we’ve lost one of our beloved Preferred Pet Sitter mascots, Buddy.
I first met Buddy on July 31st, 2022, and, admittedly, I was a little nervous to meet him, as his wonderful mom mentioned that he liked to bite toes. But from the moment I met him, I fell in love. He reminded me so much of my first dog, Coco. Both Buddy and Coco had Bichon Frise in their DNA, and in that moment, I knew we would share something special.
Paul, Lola, and I are so grateful for the time we had with Buddy, but it wasn’t nearly long enough. There are so many things I’ll miss about him:
- How good he always smelled. Smelling his little baby paws was intoxicating haha.
- How sometimes we couldn’t find him, only to discover he was curled up in the most random, cozy spots—like a laundry basket or in a chest full of blankets.
- His little run and that adorable prance/waddle of his.
- His beautiful relationship with Lola, filled with love and companionship.
- His excited greeting whenever he saw Paul, Lola, or me—he had such a joyful spirit.
- Watching Paul and Buddy wrestle playfully, with Buddy always ready to attack.
- How protective he was of the people he loved.
- His little tongue that would hang out from time to time, adding to his charm.
- His handsome face and sweet demeanor.
- His enthusiasm when he’d jump into my car for a sleepover.
- And, of course, how he would claim the entire bed and leave me hanging off of the side.
Buddy, you will always hold a special place in our hearts. You brought so much joy to our lives, and we’ll never forget you. Rest in peace, sweet boy. We love you, Bubbas.
