Our Petey and Bella do not have papers since they were re-homed to us during the past three years. Bella, the Momma, is about 3 years old. We nearly lost Petey this past winter, and this prompt us to allow Petey and Bella to mate. We wanted to keep at least one pup from the pairing since Petey is truly a wonderful companion. We didn't anticipate 13 puppies...and Bella didn't either. This is her se
cond litter, but her first with us. To be clear, we didn't own a dog until Petey came to live with us in 2012 after our move to the countryside. We also have absolutely no experience with breeding or puppy care. However, with advice from the Vet as well as guidelines from websites and magazines for American Pit Bull Terriers, we believe we have provided the best possible start to these puppies lives. To date, they have visited the Vet on their 2nd week of life and have received all three periods of deworming medicine. They have been interacting with humans since the first couple hours of life. Bella was awesome in allowing us to help her manage the feedings and cleanings. She was the best Momma considering she had more pups than teats. Half of the litter started on milk replacement by day 3 of life while the other half refused milk replacement entirely but thrived on Momma's milk until time for puppy food. We rotated the pups as necessary with each feeding to ensure all still had time with Bella and her milk. We logged approximately 18 hours a day support to Bella and the puppies since they live in our third bedroom. And since they are old enough now to go to their furever homes, we are posting on this page with hopes of loving families for each of these adorable babies. And honestly, I'm not sure if my third bedroom will survive 13 pups at the rate they are growing. Please let us know if interested.
