Hannah Hershey Fund German Shepherd, Hannah Hershey, was diagnosed with Stage 5 T-cell Lymphoma in 2013 at the age of 8. The average remission time was estimated at 10 months.

As part of FETCH a Cure's Companions in Crisis program, The Hannah Hershey Fund is dedicated to providing financial assistance to help families in Northern VA pay for life-saving cancer treatments for their pets. However, considering the severity and progression of her illness by the time the diagnosis was made, the remission time was a very guarded estimate. Miraculously, Hannah’s remission time

lasted 4 ½ years! She beat cancer and lived to be 13 years old. As Hannah aged, she also experienced heart health issues, arthritis and neurological disease. Despite all of this, she was a happy, active and loving dog until the end. Every single vet that met Hannah agreed that she was a “miracle dog” and that they had never seen such a survivor. Due to Amy and Heath’s ability to fund all of Hannah’s care and treatment, she was given a second chance at life and was able to thrive for much longer than what was originally expected. They want everyone to have the opportunity to spend more quality time with their pets, and believe that no family should be denied the opportunity to fight cancer. That’s why they have created the Hannah Hershey Fund in their beloved dog’s honor.
