Cricket and Juniper were in for their nail trim and smooth out the other day! They were so good, as per usual! Juniper has been shedding a lot, so I gave her a little “massage” with my rubber brush! Highly recommend for short and smooth coats! 🐕 🐕 ❤️

K4Paws is a service dog training organization in Kingston, Ontario (hey - that’s where we are located!). Their website is kingstonservicedogs.ca and it is incredibly easy to donate to them. What’s even cooler is that you can sponsor a specific team/person who is on the waitlist for a service dog! They also have volunteer openings, if you want some time (highschoolers, anyone?)

Last night, I watched Pick of the Litter, a movie that follows a litter of Labrador retrievers from birth to job as guide dogs. A statistic they show at the beginning of the movie is that only 300 out of 800 dogs will pass all the training to successfully be able to graduate the program. As said about many young beings, “it takes a village”, with some dogs having multiple puppy raising families, trainers, and tests. And of course, it breaks your heart when a dog doesn’t get to graduate, but the ones that do are doing some incredible work! Highly recommend checking this out if you’re interested in the process a pup goes through to become a guide dog.
