Lopek is a loving, friendly, 4yo male who is ready to give cuddles, head bumps and a lifetime of love!
Lopek is looking for his forever home, however, in the meantime, we would be so appreciative of anyone who could foster him for even a month.
Our beautiful animals deserve the best and we like to give them a chance at having some home-life time away from the centre.
If you can help Lopek, please email us at [email protected]

Update to donors who supported Casper Topples: Casper's water on the brain is being treated using a medicine to reduce fluid and he is showing more stability in his walk. His body size has caught up so his head is also looking improved. He is an angel. He twisted his elbow last night in a crochet blanket and was treated for a high temperature. Look at him walk with his bandage on! Thank you again for supporting his health care. Jonine WLPA 0409 741414
Update: Meet Georgie 5 weeks after being dumped in Bruce Lane Newtown in Sydney. 8 week old dark torti and dog proofed. We wouldn't recommend this to everyone, but Suzi her foster carer is an expert handler with rescued dogs and baby kittens. Georgie and her siblings had a tough start and are now ready of adoption by WLPA. See them all this Saturday at Leichhardt Open House 41 Edith St 10am to 6pm phone 0409 741414. Well done little hero girl.
STOP THE KILLING! Support Operation Humane Alternative instead. Prospective adopters can meet these adorable 8 white kittens, and many others at our first Adoption Open Day for the kitten season Sun now that they are approaching 6 weeks. The 8 white and 1 grey kitten were born to two sister cats. Their humane rescuer called on WLPA at Gladesville to help find the little ones homes and they were the first to be registered to a WLPA rehoming event for the season. To volunteer for Operation Humane Alternative Open Houses and Open days call Jonine on 0409 741414 or email [email protected]. To donate please see our website www.wlpa.org and follow the donate button to make a tax deductable donation.
WLPA has a new sweetheart rescued by Compassion Award Winner, Christine Smith of Leichhardt, at Callan Park. Problem is the week-old kitten, has one leg of slowly dying tissue which is dropping off. Two vets have consulted. Antibiotics now given but are risky on such a little one. Please share our video to call on community help for this precious fighter. People may donate via our 'donate' button on our website. He was tried on two mummy cats who were unimpressed with his leg and he is a strong syringe feeder. His will to survive is outstanding. Hope we have uploaded the right video of this kitten who needs everyone's help. If not, we will try again. (He wouldn't stay still)!
Cry for help update: video of infant kitten found with maggots needing lactating queen. 'January' was heard screaming on 1st Jan by a visitor to Callan Park who phoned us to rescue the kitten from a roof cavity at the abandoned hospital site. Christine Smith, who recently was awarded a Compassion Award by World League for Protection of Animals, rescued January from beside her dead sibling kitten who was covered with maggots. January also had maggots in her umbilical cord region. No mum cat was anywhere to be found, possibly a victim to a fox. We think January was 3 days old. Now the wound is treated by a roster of WLPA foster carers and two vets have given treatment. She has an antibiotic, fleas and maggots are picked off meticulously and we bathe the wound. She is being mothered by 'Sand Dune', an adult white cat in our adoption program who we hoped would lactate because Sand Dune lost her own kittens. But no milk came. Thanks to Adrian from Leichhardt whose mum cat we tried January on. Thanks also to other offers of lactating queens. We need a mum cat with super young offspring (1 week old) in the inner west. Sand Dune will continue to comfort and care for January while we attend to the wound care and strengthen the baby with manual feeds. Watch this space. Contact Jonine (WLPA Coordinator) 0409741414.
