Sad tippy update

It is with great sadness that I must report that Tippy passed away yesterday. She went at home while her person was getting ready to take her to the vet. You will be missed TipTip, so much more than you could ever know 💔

Everyone meet Pixie! She's our newest "demo puppy" since a real canid puppy is not in the cards in the remotely immediate future.

We're all still getting to know Pixie here, and she's still getting to know us. She's very calm and cuddly except when she's excited and binkying around.

We will unfortunately have to restart the bonding process between LGD and bunny, but we have no doubt they'll be fast friends based on their personalities and Pixie's confidence levels. She will begin touch training this afternoon to see if she takes to it well, I just wanted to give her time to settle in before working on training. She's thankfully having no trouble getting comfy and is quick to show off her sparkling personality, so we can start very light today.

It's with a heavy heart that I share the news of Merlin's unexpected passing. Our sweet bunny suffered a sudden seizure and sadly broke his neck. We're devastated by his loss and still processing this. Merlin was an amazing part of our family, and we'll miss him dearly. Pandora is already looking for him.

His breeder was incredibly kind and offered us a replacement bunny. While we can never truly replace Merlin, we welcomed Pixie, a beautiful lionhead, into our home last night. It was a middle-of-the-night trip, and I didn't want to put her under more stress with photos. I'll share some pictures of her soon.

Thank you for all the love and support. Knowing Merlin was loved by others brings us comfort.

I'm still getting things settled with setting up Painted Dog Training Company, but once I'm largely to the maintenance stages with that, I'm thinking about running a small animal care blog as well? Would anyone be at all interested?

Merlin has a love/hate relationship with his assorted enrichment feeders. He loves the easy parts, he hates having to do work for the hard parts (this is a joke. He quite enjoys figuring things out, he's just quickly frustrated if he tries a few times and doesn't understand why it's not working). Afflink in comments

Enrichment isn't just for dogs! This is one of Merlin and Fidget's puzzle feeders. They get one of these at least once a day (rabbits can have a lot more healthy snacks than chinchillas can so Fidget gets a LOT fewer treats than this 🤣) afflink for the feeder in the comments

Aaaaa I did the repotting this week!

The weeping willow cuttings finally got planted and they're THRIVING. I'll only keep one or two, so I'll have two to three available when they're grown out a bit more.

The Judas sprouts, black pine sprouts, and acacia sprouts were all moved to their own pots (there are still some that may sprout soon) - I'll have 2-4 of each species available when they've grown up a bit and are stable enough to be shipped. Of course, the more I grow them on, the more expensive they're going to be, but I don't plan to charge crazy prices or anything. I'm just trying to recoup some costs, not make a 6 figure business 🤣

I also have lemon sprouts! I'm doing a series of bonsai fruit trees - so far I've got lemons and oranges going, but I'm going to be adding in apples, pomegranates, and more! Im just saving seeds from fruit I get that I particularly like LOL

Filling slow feeders to freeze, now including one for Merlin the bunny!(His doesn't get frozen because there's no liquid in it LOL). Ground turkey for dogs, plus raw food and treats. Fresh veg and fruit for Merlin, plus treats.

I normally wouldn't post this here because it's technically not dogs, but I've seen several people on dogbook this week/recently say they really need laptops for school or work, so hopefully it reaches someone who needs it. Amazon is having an INSANE deal on this off manufacturer but good specs laptop, less than $400 which is nearly $1000 discount. Weeping willow cuttings! We lucked out with these and a friend bought them for us. They'll be a little bigger than a traditional bonsai but still kept very small. I've got 4 cuttings, I'll probably sell 2 or 3 trees! I'll also include the afflink for them in comments in case you just want to buy your own
