If anyone ever told you that "rescue is boring"...they're pulling your leg 😅 Glinda's at the office right now with NO PLACE TO GO. She's homeless! Who can help?

She needs a home who will actually engage with her - like play fetch with her! She's a great listener and eager to please. Good with other dogs & kids. Cats would probably be too fun...(aka no cats)

Please read to the end:

MARS is not a shelter. We house no animals on-site as we believe pets belong in homes, as family members, and it makes for an easier transition from foster home to adoptive forever home. We don’t have enough foster homes. This is why you see us constantly asking. We’ve limited our intake to accommodate for the lack of homes. As a rescue, this *pains* us.

We don’t know why there’s such a lack of foster homes. Maybe the majority of people got their dog in 2020, and aren't interested anymore? Maybe people are too busy?

Lack of funds? Fostering is free. We provide the supplies for you!
Short on time? We can accommodate this!

Lulu and Katie are in boarding right now. We pay for boarding. You know how your wallet is feeling much tighter? So is ours…

Please help us, help them. They’re both great dogs!! Lulu needs a home who will engage with her - teach her things. Katie needs a home who will let her come out of her shell at her own pace. We have other dogs in need of foster homes this week as well… Do we post them and continue begging? Hoping someone steps up or post happy happy social media posts to increase our views? In hopes people will engage more? Which in turn hopefully gets fosters? The decision is difficult. But, we’re not a shelter.

Can you help? If not, that’s okay! We do understand not everyone can house a pet. Share the post! Share it on your neighborhood group and with your friends! Sitting on the sidelines, and doing nothing, helps no one.

If we band together, we accomplish AMAZING things!!! But we have to do it together, as one, for the mission of the pets.

This is Katie. She came to MARS on Saturday and is totally and completely not sure what’s going on in her world right now. She’s shaken, and actually ran away from her foster home on Saturday night. Thankfully, she is safe and heading to boarding, however she needs a new place to go.

She needs a home who will sit with her, hand feed her kibble, and help her learn that life isn’t scary. A place that’s not overwhelming and will let her come out of her shell at her own pace.

Can you help? Do you know anyone who could help? Let’s share her story, MARS Community! Share it on your neighborhood groups, and with your friends. We *know* someone is out there who can help her.

Well Saturday morning…. The van is carrying precious babies looking forward to a new bright future…5 of them have no idea they have no foster home waiting for them 😞. It is crunch time folks. 9 hours and the countdown has begun! We are in emergency mode! 5 precious souls NEED to know they will have a foster home! MARS Community it is time!! The hard truth…if we have 5 homeless, we will also have one mars staff member who CANT go home tonight to their family because we do not house dogs at MARS! Someone has to be with them at all times!! Yes! I am begging! Please SHARE, SHARE,SHARE if you can’t foster…. Foster if you can Please! Even a week or two is extremely helpful!

Friday has come and gone, tomorrow 5 dogs arriving have no where to go!! We need our community to share this far and wide! We need fosters!!

Morning update. Jagger covered! Keep it going!!!
It is Friday morning, everyone is busy, getting ready to head to the cabin for the weekend or camping or whatever fun is to be had as we count down to school starting…..Well here is the hard truth, we need fosters or forever for the dogs below by Saturday. We can only help dogs if we have fosters.
We need our community to help us get those fosters. The more you share our post, talk with friends and family, YOU are what makes fosters happen. These babies would love to go to the cabin or hiking or just hanging in the back yard while you garden. They come from nothing, no one cared. We know you care, we care, will you help us?

Happy International Cat Day! Today we "celebrated" by having a box of kittens dropped off...the "dirt" at the bottom? That's actually rust. The options for these kittens were a field or MARS...welcome to MARS, little ones!

They're 3-4 weeks old and are now safe in a foster home!

Good morning MARS Community, no matter what, Rescue goes on. These deserving pups are looking to come to MARS for a new start. Three of them are currently here and are either in boarding or needing to move asap. The other 9 are looking for homes when they arrive Saturday 8/10. IT IS SIMPLE, in order to help dogs, we need fosters, SO lets share, comment or better yet try fostering! You won't regret it. Even short term helps to give the dogs a chance at detox and rejuvenation to a new happy ever after from being abandoned, given away or left tied to something.

This is URGENT! This little girl is currently at Fun City Dog, where she is having time with great people and other dogs. She CANT stay there after today! She needs a home with someone who likes to walk, run, hike, and cuddle on the couch. She NEEDS a place to go TODAY! Please please help us help her.

Happy Tuesday! MARS Community, we’re calling you to action - These great dogs need temporary foster (or better yet, forever) homes!

Kano needs a place by tomorrow (Wednesday). He’s one of the Labs rescued from a MN backyard breeder posted a couple weeks back. He’s already a happier boy living in a home; he just needs someone to help him gain some confidence! Glinda is super intelligent, full of energy, and *loves* being outdoors. She gets a little disgruntled being stuck in the house too long, so she’s still learning her house manners. Lulu is super intelligent who’s eager to please when given tasks; she loves learning new things! She already knows the basics: Sit, down, off, come. She is looking for someone who wants to work her mind and body, who will give her the leadership she is craving!

URGENT, help please! These two babies were fostered in apartments as only dogs and would prefer to be in a home with another dog. They're lonely!

We covered 5/12 dogs yesterday, unfortunately we are adding two that lost their foster commitment, how about we get all remaining dogs covered today! They will be here no matter what tomorrow! You’ll be making a difference and giving them a second chance. They were kept from being euthanized for shelter space. Our mission - get them homes!
If you can’t foster, share the post. Ask family and friends, they might love a dog to hang with them for awhile as they await their forever homes.

The weekend is coming and we know everyone will be out enjoying their summer. Would you consider letting one of these babies join you in that fun? We have held off bringing dogs in due to lack of fosters, these babies have been waiting a month to be MARS dogs. All were slotted for euthanasia due to space, pulled by rescue partners, held to keep them safe and now need us to give them homes actual homes...Good dogs who have been failed by humans. Lets be the difference the happy new life for these deserving dogs and puppies. Please share if you cannot foster, ask friends and family if they can foster, or if you can foster, even for only a week or two, every little bit helps! THEY NEED YOU! We need you!

Jareth (first photo) and Bowie (second photo) just lost their owner recently... They’re great dogs who just got their world turned upside down. Both get along great with other dogs! They need a moment to understand kids first, but Jareth and Bowie do well with kids too. Jareth would love to be your shadow.

They both are looking for a temporary (or forever..!) home; and would love to be your companion to go out and about with! Jareth and Bowie don’t need to stay together when they get here on transport on Saturday 7/27. Let’s help them get their own fresh starts to life.

Well it is Saturday morning…a beautiful day to enjoy puppy antics. There’s 4 still await fosters! How? OK, so things change in rescue on a dime. We are looking for puppie foster sfor 4 of Betty Boops puppies to join the other 4 going to foster care tomorrow. Who can help with a couple of these nuggets. 8lbs of super cute!!!! They will do better in pairs.

Welcome to MARS & NDLB, Labs. ❤ You're officially out of the pen, the pen is empty, and you are free! Home life is much different than outdoor, chicken coop life, but give it a chance and you will love it. We love you beyond words and can't wait to watch you blossom in your new lifes!
