I've just completed my Oral Care Nurse Certificate 🎉. I have a very keen interest in dentistry so have been expanding my knowledge on this.

Hello everyone,

Long time no see 🤣. I have some extremely exciting news. Back in December 2023 I got the news that I passed my final exams and then in march this year my registration came through. Therefore I am now a fully qualified registered veterinary nurse, and I couldn't be happier! It's taken me in total around 5 years to get here and my gosh it's been a journey!

I have decided to keep my little business Paws Paradise going for mainly pet sitting and weekend walkies when I can. I will work this around my full time job. I have a lot of experience with many animals Including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish both tropical and cold water, tortoise and chickens.

I am fully insured and you can rest assured your pets will be in the best hands. I care for all animals as if they were my own. Pet sitting for cats is very beneficial as they can stay in their own home with their own routine and therefore this involves less stress for them. I am also very confident in administration of any medications they may be on. I am experienced in caring for animals with a wide range of conditions. My commitment is to provide the healthiest, most nurturing environment for your family member by giving them exactly the same loyalty, trust, dedication, integrity, love & care that I show to my own pets.

I am very passionate about my profession and like to think this shows through my work.

Daisys investigation have shown she has a very large megaoesophagus not in a typical place.
Daisy is a fighter but her only real chance of survival at the moment is to have a PEG tube fitted this will allow food to go directly into the stomach bypassing the oesophagus so we can get her weight up due to her being severely underweight and malnourished. We are not sure she will survive the surgery. We are beck at the vets today 🤞🏻

So sorry for the radio silence recently, I've been on and off with my health 🤒 for a month so just been trying to focus on myself for a little bit and keep on track with college work 😂

The face of a dog who isn't panting despite her smoosh face but is a little miffed not to be out walking.

This is so much better that the face of the dog that I met in the ICU with multiple organ failure that "just popped out for 20 mins". Despite being young and slender with no prior health problems, she's now fighting for some resemblance of life. She is a working breed. Athletic and agile. No flat face or thick coat. Regularly health screened and an avid canicross dog. Her owners feel horrendous, they had seen so many others dogs out in the heat wave. Its 33 degrees today in my village, I spotted 8 dogs out while I went to get some supplies for my tortoises (and a cheeky iced coffee as I was melting)

Her owner gave permission for her story to be shared in any way possible. They thought things had been sensationalised. They hadn't.
They thought they would be OK, they aren't.
They adore their dog. She's part of the family, she gave her mum away at the wedding. Her family are not bad people, they just believed that as the little lady wasn't in a car and a light breeze was present, she would be OK.

Please don't walk your dogs. The stink eye is far more manageable than the impact of heatstroke. It's heartbreaking for all involved.

Even good people make poor choices.

Let's collectively do better.

My lovely lady went for her groom with Molly. Molly is extremely professional and caring. Ruby just needs a gentle hand and time to get to know new people especially when thrown into a new situation and Molly was brilliant with her. Thankyou and highly recommended this lady ###

Ruby came to visit me today her mum said she is nervous with new people and a rescue so we took our time and she was such a good girl ⭐️

I do not want to see photos of your litter of puppies.

There, I said it.
I don't. It stings.

Once we get past how cute they are I see the flip side. The uglier side. The side that leaves less colour and brightness in the world.

I am a veterinary professional and damn proud to be so. I love that I am lucky enough to work with teams up and down the country and have seen the smiles of compassionate people whose career is built around animal welfare.
I see them. Real people behind the veterinary practice doors.

I work with a variety of rescues. Their doors and banks currently at breaking point. I choose to spend much of my time particularly with brachycephalic and French bulldog rescues and charities. Why? Because their welfare crisis is profound and growing by the day.
We as society adding to the burden by breeding, advertising and platforming dogs that have declined in ability and quality of life. Bred to look more like what WE want and far removed for the dogs they once were. I see them struggle.

I see thread after thread of vet bashing. Words said with venom behind the keyboards of faceless people. Tiny to huge comments and statements chipping away at the character and code of everything Veterinary medicine stands for. I see the hurt it causes. It stings. Words matter.

Even good people make less good choices. Sometimes life pivots in ways we could never imagine. Our circumstances can change in a mere heartbeat. With the growing crisis in rescue and animal care Professions, there is less slack to help support these very people. The people who have just been unlucky.

Yesterday, another dog was taken in destined to be put to sleep. He was not unusual.

Bright, happy, bouncy and just over a year old. He had done nothing to warrant the loss of his life so young. A vet team stepped in, fortunate to have the right numbers for someone, who may know someone ,who may be able to help. He wasn't an anomaly.

I want to see emergency spaces in rescue, not rescues on their knees.
I want to see Veterinary teams hurting less, not vet bashing online from people who do not see the harm they cause.
I want to see less unhealthy dogs bred for greed without any repercussions.
I want to see the health of these breeds improve, by working together to change the narrative.

I am tired of seeing empty collars on kennel room floors and litters of unhealth-tested. puppies.

I have literally never seen the country in such a state with rescues and poor animals ending up either being put to sleep or ending up in rescues. All because humans are just well idiots 🙄.

This rescue are very specialised and give the ones who would normally be put to sleep a chance at life! They put 100% into each and everyone who comes into the rescue. Very experienced with handrearing and I'm constantly asking them 21 questions and wishing they would write a book 😂😂.

Because of the cases they end up taking on it can be extremely expensive with veterinary bills. They will always give every animal a chance.
