UPDATE, October 30, 2024, ADOPTED!!! YAY!!
Scar, ChiChi and Bianca are still in need of a home! Sadly their owner can no longer care for them. They are so sweet! They are housebroken and walk so well on a leash! Look at the video and watch them cruise along with each other! They patiently wait whenever one needs to stop and while you clean up. They are not yappers. Three seems like a lot but they are little! 🤣 They dance and twirl with excitement while you leash them up! Please help us re-home this trio! (They must stay together.) Serious inquires call the Cape May County Animal Shelter at 609-465-8923.
Kitten season is in full swing! But, we wanted to take a moment to give some attention to our older cats.
Senior cats in shelters are often over looked by families that are looking for their new furry family member. They often times lost their owners to sickness or death, and find themselves devastated and in a new frightening place. Our staff works hard to help these cats cope and understand that they are safe and loved by us. Soon they are out of their shells and are extremely affectionate with us!
However what everyone at the shelter really wishes for is for our older cats to get the life they deserve in a home of their own. Where they can get all the pets, cuddles, and love they could want.
Please if you are looking for your next feline companion, consider our older cats. They deserve as much of a chance as our kittens at a happy home.
In order the cats featured are: Lynxie, Ginger, Gemma, Possum, Kay, Champ, Tiger Lily, and Star Burst. If none of these cats tickle your fancy then please check our pet finder or reach out. We have more than just these seniors looking for a home.
Meet Callie!
Callie is a "plus-sized" girl. She weighs 23 pounds, that's a lot of cat! But every ounce of this girl is made of love! She is a friendly cuddly girl who would be a great match for someone that enjoys some quality TV time!
She will need to be on a diet and might need help getting move active so she can get down to a heathy weight. She lived in a bedroom along with her daughter Tippy. Her owner became sick and surrendered them to the shelter.
Surprisingly, Callie is in good health at 10 years old and shows no signs of diabetes.
Callie is available for

Meet Molly!
One of the most affectionate cats you’ll have the pleasure of meeting. This girl is always happy to see old friends and new friends!
This beautiful girl was one of 22 cats left behind when her owner was evicted. Molly was put outside and had to fend for herself for months before a kind neighbor started feeding her.
That isn’t all, she was also a momma cat while she was out on her own. She and her kittens came to us and all her kittens found their own homes, but Molly is still waiting.
Molly was raised with dogs, cats and kids, but after living with 22 other cats she prefers to be an only cat.
Help Molly find a forever home where she can soak up all the attention and love this sweetheart deserves ❤️

Meet Gandolf and Grey!
These two brothers are one of the bonded pairs we have at the shelter. They are estimated to be 8-9 years old. They are loving and gentle boys that deserve to know what living in a clean, heathy, and happy home is like!❤️
Gandolf and Grey had a hard start in life living in an extreme hoarding house. They came to us with many other cats we lovingly call the “G” group, all being named a “G” name. Many of the “G” cats were kept in dogs kennels in the basement, some luckier cats lived upstairs in rooms. Gandolf and Grey were two of the luckier ones, living in an upstairs bedroom.
They have come a long way since they have entered the shelter but they will need an understanding home that can give them the space to come out of there shells in a new place.
If you are interested in being the person to rescue these boy please don’t hesitate to contact us and fill out an application!
