Today we feature three Sanmann-bred Goldens, and a young Bergamasco Sheepdog who is a handling class student.

Today, instead of a Friday feature, we want to clear up a misunderstanding about last week's post.
The featured dog with the call name Archie was Sanmann's Pride Of Riverdale. He was loved throughout his life by the Williams family, which includes Fitzroy (Sanmann's Pride Of The Highlands), the puppy featured in the photos. Fitzroy is one of the pups born in early 2023 and you met him last year.
While *our* Archie (GCHB CH Sanmann's All In The Family CGCA TKN) did pass last year, we chose not to announce this publicly.
We apologize for any confusion and thank everyone for the kind thoughts, which we have shared with the Williams family.

Today we celebrate a life well lived.
Earlier this year, a handsome Golden Retriever named Archie crossed the Rainbow Bridge suddenly and unexpectedly. There was something that just didn't seem right, and he was taken immediately to the vet. Sadly, Archie had an internal tumor that was rupturing, and, a few hours later, he was gone. His humans were devastated, as was his younger pal Fitz(roy).
Here are a few photos of Archie and Fitz in happier times. We send our condolences to Archie's family, and thank them for taking such good care of him throughout his life.

Today we share another success from one of our handling class students. This is Bernese Mountain Dog Gemma, who earned a major win and owner-handled best of breed at the Twin Brooks KC show in Morristown NJ. Congratulations to Gemma and her very proud owner-handler Sheri Wright. Note: this win is particularly special as the judge is a breeder of Berners!

Today we share an update on Ruthie, who was one of those adorable pups born to our girl Prix in January of 2023 (Judge is Ruthie's sire).
Ruthie and her family have been finding their way in the last two months since losing Horton. Ruthie has stepped up big time and has assumed the role of primary dog. She was clearly watching and learning from Horton (even as she played the role of wild child as a growing puppy).
To refresh your memory, Horton was a therapy dog extraordinaire who was featured a while back. Our condolences to his family on their loss of a truly amazing dog.
On a happier note, this spring, Ruthie's family decided to give FastCAT a try and Ruthie loves it! She’s not the fastest but she consistently runs about 21 mph and she always has the most fun. She even earned her BCAT title last month!

Hello everyone! Today we share with you a few canine achievements that make us very happy.
Presenting Prix (Sanmann's Grand Prix UD CGCA TKN FDC CCA) and Star (Sanmann's Shining Star CGCA FDC FTN), both of whom successfully completed Farm Dog testing in early June.
If that's not enough, Star also earned a brand new AKC title (Fetch Novice, abbreviated FTN)! Fetch is a new AKC program in which dogs demonstrate their retrieving skills.
Way to go girls!

Our friend Astra (who you met last week) has been a VERY busy girl. In mid-June, she rocked the Ludwig’s Corner shows. She was WB both days for her first points. And on Saturday she was owner-handled BOB, and went on to win OH Sporting Group One in the OH sporting group.
She was very happy to get back to her tennis ball!!

Next, we have our Keeshond friend Taavi, with his owner/handler Helene Cempa. Taavi was BOS and BOW on Friday and BOW to a 4-point major on Saturday at West Friendship!

For today's Friday Feature, we take a slightly different direction.
First, here's a photo of one of something done in every show handling class, the down-and-back drill. For those not familiar with conformation, the down-and-back is a very important component, as the judge gets a controlled view of a dog's movement from the rear and the front.
Next, here's a photo of Liza, a very pretty Papillion chilling out at home. Don't let her small stature fool you--this girl can hold her own keeping up with the larger dogs in class!
