HELP NEEDED!

Mum is posting this for a shelter supporter that asked if we could help find this little one a new home. Mocha

Hi happy holidays! I was wondering if you would be interested in taking on a new ferret. He was surrendered after having an eye injury. A few months ago he had a tiny lump in his belly but it hasn't changed in this time so I think it’s probably nothing. He is on eye drops now. If not do you know anyone else trustworthy in the area that could take on a ferret that is likely OK just needs some meds and monitoring ? He came in for euthanasia but I didn’t want to do that. We talked the client into surrendering him. If you can take him on or know someone that would be willing to he is currently at:

Bird and Exotic Hospital in Greenacres ,FL.- Dr. Vanessa Rolfe.

Hello cyber friends and shelter supporters we want to share something special with you.

We asked Mum to send calendars to Troop 60316 when she sent the thank you for their help and donations. She agreed to do that. This was the message Mum got from the scout leader, with a picture of the girls holding up their calendars. Mum says we are so blessed to have so many be a part of our shelter volunteers.

We had our Holiday cookie exchange this evening and I was able to pass out the calendars you sent.
They brought a smile to everyone's faces,

Hello cyber friends and shelter supporters.

We had new volunteers drop by last week.

Scout troop 60306

5 young ladies and 2 leaders. They walked in with arm loads of donations, then they spent 2 hours learning about and playing with some ferrets along with helping with duties. The duties they did for us were mixing food, separating papers, and taping up the holes in the plastic bags we reuse.

Thank you troop 60306 for helpen Mum take care of us!

Hello cyber friends and shelter supporters,

We would like to share more of our volunteers with you. This time the volunteers that take care of our property. Miss Donna comes weekly to make our property look awesome. Then we have the "as needed" volunteers. Mr. Bill works in tandem with Miss Donna while Miss Donna recuperated from surgery.

Miss Janette is our treasure, she records and reports weekly the donations that come in.

Mum says we are blessed to have so many volunteers that work with us.

Hello cyber friends and shelter supporters,

Our ferret picnic is just a week away. As Mum said in an earlier post the BoD opted not to do raffles at the picnic. However there will be items available to trade for paper towels/napkins. We heard Mum mumbling that our paper towel supplies are depleted. If you want to help restock our paper towels we would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

The newest fur kid at the shelter

Hello cyber friends and shelter supporters,

June 8, 2024 picnic day with ferrets and their humans.

Our Board of Directors have voted to continue with our annual ferret day with a slight modification. As most of you know Our Favorite Doc (OFD) has retired so there will be no checkups or vaccines however it was decided we would have the picnic without OFD.

As usual the shelter will supply the main course and soft drinks/water. Another slight change will be a meat tray instead of hot dogs, because our grill no longer functions. All are welcome with or without ferrets. Many of our shelter supporters prefer to take our shelter ferrets out for the day to give them a day of fun.

We look forward to seeing you again this year.

Dear cyber friends and shelter supporters,

Mum has asked me to let you know her 2 legged furless kids have gone home and we are ready to receive volunteers again. Mum says she is aware of how important our volunteers are; but last week was a real wake up call as to how much gets done by our volunteers. Many of the simple, daily things are done by volunteers. Last week Mum had to make sure the food stations, water fountains, and poo papers were filled and cleaned before she left to meet up with Roderick and Lisa. Mum says we are so blessed to have so many volunteers to help take care of us.

Thank you for understanding and giving Mum the time to spend with her far away children. We look forward to receiving our volunteers again.

Mum is letting everyone know that her oldest boy Roderick and daughter in-law Lisa are coming home the week of May 6th through May 13th. Mum is suspending all volunteer help for the entire time Roderick and Lisa are home. Volunteer help will resume after the 13th of May.

Thanks for your understanding.

Me and Mum decided we would share with you one picture at a time from the 2024 calendar. Miss Mary Ellen said she would help us do that. Mr. Antonio made sure the pictures were print ready then put the entire calendar of pictures into a collage. I told Mum it would be fun to highlight each months picture one at a time.

Mum thought that was a good idea.

There are still a few calendars left. The price will stay the same as last year, $15.00 each + shipping. We will ship in a flat rate envelope priority mail $9.65. 4 calendars will fit in that one envelope.

Thank you all for your support!
