Exciting BABY BUMPS News.
One of the gorgeous resident Great Basin Rattlesnakes is very pregnant. Just look at that sweet face! There are both Great Basin and North Pacific in the area here.
Always looking under the sagebrush in the field for them but she was taking advantage of "resort amenities" like the sprinkler under the trees in the shade. 🐍😂

Haha, look at that. With our not so flourishing economy even the birds are having to cut back and rent out their nest basement.
Enjoy the Sunday funny and have a great week everyone. 🐊♥️🌻

I think someone is feeling a bit jealous of all the owl's attention and posts.
Usually just have the cute little cottontails but here's one of this year's 3 resident Jack Rabbits.
Just look at the size of those ears (radar antenna's). 🤣
The beautiful coloration sure blends in nicely with the desert landscape.
Here's Jack's first time in the limelight.

With the ongoing heat wave mama owl is enjoying cooling off and playing in the kiddie pool.
Hmm, wonder if she'd mind company? 🤔 🤣🦉♥️🌻

Been a few days since posted an owl chick update. Didn't want to bother them while mom and dad coaxed them out of the nest and onto the rafters.
It's exciting the four yes 4, fluffballs arrived into the trees on Sunday.
You'll notice 3 look similar but one is much lighter and golden.
I'm thinking of doing a FB Fan Page for the owl's.
Don't want to waste time or effort so let me know if you'd be interested in following the owl fan page.🦉♥️🌻

Well, the questine as to why the owl's nest is so big has been answered.
That's because there's not just two chicks or three but a whopping 4 owl chicks.😲🦉
So exciting because having 3 is rare but 4 is practically unheard of.
Mom and dad appear to be trying to coax the chicks out of the nest and onto the rafters. Flying 101!
Might be a hard undertaking as such a big nest is probably soft and warm.
Mom and dad must be exhausted from feeding the brood.
Like to spoil the parents and chicks so I put green pool noodles over the top of the wire top fences.
Stay tuned for more spam.🦉♥️🦉♥️🦉♥️🦉♥️🌻

Here's the Grand Wizard Owl himself that started my whole owl obsession.
With a family of 5 to feed you can see with all the head turns he's on high "shopping" alert.
He's such a handsome, regal predator although I do wish he'd "shop" down the road.😅 🦉♥️🌻

HATCHING ANNOUNCEMENT! I am very excited to positively say we have 2 possibly 3 GHO chicks this year.
Looks like a 3rd head in back on the right.
Lots of chick pix to come.

Well, shut my mouth. Look at that 4+ inches of snow and it's still snowing. Thought for sure Spring was here because the prairie dogs were finally out. Plus the torts have been out loving the sun after the Winter lockdown.
What the heck, Mother Nature and Father Time have got to stop fratenizing and do their jobs to KEEP Spring here.
Good thing I did errands yesterday as certainly not going anywhere today!!!

Yipee, the girls are out in their finest spring-colored balloons, wandering while their summer housing is being put up. Just look for the balloon to keep track of your tortoises!
JJ has the yellow balloon and Nugget the green for St Patrick's Day of course.
Even though both are big from their color you can see how well they blend in.

WOO HOO, a prairie dog is out! Can now say extreme Winter weather is over.
They usually come out the 2nd week in February but think they knew about the big snow and ice storm the past 2 weeks.
The local prairie dogs don't have mounds like most others that way the can fill the hole in at night. Keeps out the riff raff. 🤣

What a Winter. First, we have a big snowfall into March, which has been the biggest so far. Now the past few days have had unseasonably low temps with several 0 degree days. 🥶☃️
Its not fun walking on 6+ inches of snow which is frozen.
However, the sun is out and it's a gorgeous day. 🌻🌻🌻

Well so much for the groundhog not seeing it's shadow because the local prairie dogs saw theirs. Its been snowing all day and its 9 -10 inches deep and still coming down. Its so deep can't even open the back door.
This is the most snow there's been this Winter.
It is beautiful and the birds are sure enjoying it.

Our Story

Based out of Oregon, USA, International Reptile Rescue/Hart’s Reptile World is the oldest reptile rescue in North America. We've made a name for ourselves by being willing to work with rescued crocodilians and venomous snakes that few other rescues are trained to safely and humanely work with, and also by providing some of the most entertaining, memorable, and educational presentations out there. We are deeply committed to the humane and ethical treatment of reptiles through rescue work, rehabilitation, adoptions, education and public presentations.
