They disrupt countless ecosystems, foul swimming areas, restrict water flow to power plants, and create boating and navigation hazards. In an effort to restore the beauty and utility of our beaches, we have developed a method of harvesting the zebra mussel shells. Out of this desire to close nature’s recycling loop, we have created a line of products focused on safe reusable resources with sensiti
vity to our communities and environment. Shoreline Cat Litter was an idea born out of necessity for a stray, one-eyed, deaf kitten named Zoey, who wondered into our lives one day. Having no cat litter at our immediate disposal, we improvised and poured some crushed zebra mussel shells into a plastic container. The sand absorbed the urine and coated the droppings, making it easy to scoop. With some experimenting, we added other natural ingredients to help eliminate odor, while maintaining a soft, sand-like texture that cats really love. Creating a product that is both safe and economical was a priority for us, along with packaging made from recycled material. Shoreline Cat Litter also donates product to local animal shelters as a way of giving back to our community. Thank you for reading our story and we encourage you to try Shoreline Cat Litter. Your cat and the environment will be glad you did.
