Caution! Overload of adorable fluff below😍

Jerry and his owner Susan had their first visit to our clinic last week. Visiting a new place can be stressful, but Jerry greeted us like an old friend with his friendly and calm demeanor. He was visiting for parasite prevention and a vaccine (which he was very brave for). Way to go Jerry!

📢 Notice of Saturday Closure 📢

Our hospital will be closed on April 18 as our team attends the Atlantic Provinces Veterinary Conference and participates in staff training. 🐾

This time allows us to continue learning, growing, and bringing the best possible care back to our patients and clients.

We will resume regular hours on Monday April 20. If your pet requires urgent care during this time, please reach out to either of our locations to speak to a registered veterinary technician.

Dogs can exhibit one ear up and one down for a few different reasons:

• Puppy Development - Many puppies have floppy ears until their ears develop more fully
• Listening- Dogs may lift one ear to better hear sounds, indicating they are paying attention.
• Genetics- Some breeds naturally have one ear up and one down, which is a common trait among certain dog breeds.

This little cutie's ears may be a combination of all 3 reasons! Her name is Zoey 🐶🐾

Did you know that Newfoundland dogs have webbed feet?
All dogs are born with some degree of webbing between their toes but not all breeds retain fully functional webbed feet into adulthood.
Newfoundland dogs, Labrador Retrievers and Portuguese water dogs are a few breeds to name that have fully webbed feet!

Did you know that orange female cats are relatively rare?

This is because the orange gene is located on the X chromosome, female kittens need both parents to pass the orange gene, while males only need one from their mother.

This means, roughly 75% to 80% of orange cats are male! This little cutie is the exception; her name is Precious!
