Shanti the Silver Goldendoodle Shanti's name means 'peace' in Hindi. It's an apt name for such a darling, empathic companion. The rescue did an amazing job with the puppies.

Shanti's story begins before she was even born... when Mabel, her poodle mom, found herself with 12 puppies in her belly and surrendered to a rescue because her human mom had passed away. Fortunately, Priceless Pet Rescue in Chino Hills, CA had the resources and volunteers to give momma a safe place to have her pups in a wonderful foster home. Still, Mabel was not strong enough to feed them hersel

f, which basically meant that there were quite a few people involved in feeding 12 hungry pups round the clock until they were ready for solid food. When the puppies were exactly eight weeks old, Priceless Pets made them available for adoption along with Mabel. Shanti's mom and dad got up super early the first day they were available and drove for about an hour. They arrived at the rescue at about 6 a.m., and there was a line already forming! By the time the rescue opened at noon, there were probably 100 people in line, each hoping to take home a gorgeous golden doodle puppy or their equally-amazing momma. Shanti's mom and dad were just fourth in line, so it was a sure bet that they were going to get one of the puppies. Mabel was adopted by the second family in line and she was renamed 'Maybe.' First adopted became 'Mojo' and he's a darling boy with a full cream coat. Second was Maybe, third was Shanti's favorite sister, Scout... and then came time for Shanti to pick her humans. There were four little girl dogs in the litter and Shanti's dad held each one of them. But, when it came to Shanti, she knew the magic gesture. Reach up and nibble on this man's beard and, presto, he's gonna want to take me home! Sure enough, she was the one! Now, she is living a spoiled life with her retired parents in a gated community that is criss-crossed with miles of nature trails (doggy heaven). She goes on pack walks twice each week and also loves walking just with mom and dad. She loves other people and other dogs - even ones who aren't all that nice to her. Shanti is in training to become a therapy dog and she loves her interactions with college students, memory care patients, and children. Shanti has many doggy friends and loves to go to puppy day care, where she can really get her groove on with her puppy friends. Do you need a Shanti in your life? Remember, adoption is the way to go... you just need to have some patience. Ask Shanti and she'll help you with that!
