Silly kitties! Anneke got inside the comforter cover and when I went to get her out, I found out that Adela was in there too 😹 Anneke did not like being grabbed and dragged to the open end but she was relieved to finally be freed!

Adela is making up for ten slow days in a cone! She's been dashing around the house like crazy every morning and we even saw her chasing Emma.

Also a couple of days ago I had a medium paper bag ready to use, the kind with the twisted paper handle, and she stuck her head in the handle and tore around the house like a bullet (tried to catch her as she went by and there was no way!). I found her downstairs with the bag torn up and I freed her, but she was shaken up from being chased by a terrifying bag all over the house 😹

Anneke sniffed Adela and no one hissed. Hopefully it means that things are getting back to normal!

Anneke is home!! She's spending a lot of time cleaning herself because she is usually the cleanest kitty but has been denied this dignity since Sunday. She and Emma sniffed each other all over and seemed to recognize each other. However, Adela hissed and Anneke hissed back. We're planning on keeping them apart for now and reintegrating them. So things will still be in a bit of flux for the next week, and Anneke has to be on antibiotics, but she's very happy to be home and has been eating already!

We just took off Adela's cone (half a day early) and she finally has the freedom to thoroughly lick herself! I also gave her a substantial mane trim because the fur under her chin was so long that it kept getting stuck in her mouth 😹 Tomorrow Anneke should be home and all the girls will be cone-free!

Anneke's fever is finally falling and the vet thinks she can come home tomorrow after one more night of nutrition from the feeding tube! A sweet vet tech moved her to a big cage and set up a nest of blankets for her. Intense tummy rubs for an hour twice a day have lifted her spirits ❤️

Please send good thoughts for Anneke. She's still in the vet hospital with a very high fever and they're going to run additional tests and put her on a feeding tube today. We've been going to see her twice a day during visiting hours.

Adela is doing well and has been low energy but surprisingly calm, and hasn't tried to take off her e-collar. However, we had to take Anneke to the emergency vet today because she was lethargic and wouldn't eat. She had a very high fever that they think is viral, since there weren't signs of anything else. They are keeping her overnight so that she can be monitored and kept hydrated. Hopefully by tomorrow her temperature will have come down and she can come home. Please keep our sweet girl in your thoughts!

Adela was spayed today and is starting to figure out that she can't remove the cone. Thankfully she's nowhere near as energetic as Anneke was as a kitten! Hopefully the next 10-14 days passes without incident.

Our friend brought over a Da Bird feather toy and all three of the girls went crazy for it (plus he's really good at the motions). Adela is flying all over the place! Anneke has been lazy about running recently but she's panting and Emma isn't trying to avoid Adela because she wants in on the action. The Cat Dancer used to be their favorite but no more!

Thank you for all the well wishes for our sweet boy. He seems to be doing a lot better! Last night and this morning he was very enthusiastic about getting snacks and smelly canned food, and was rumble purring like a motorboat in anticipation. Last night he came to sleep on my pillow and right now he started purring softly while being petted. Hopefully he keeps getting better and will be fully recovered soon! ❤️

Yesterday Emma was playing in the snow, but ran off and ended up on the neighbor's deck! I had to come retrieve the naughty girl. She spent the rest of the day crying at the front door, and we're probably not letting her go outside again.
