LLOYD CHRISTMAS TRAINING HIS FOSTER MOM
LLOYD CHRISTMAS TRAINING HIS FOSTER MOM - Watch as Lloyd Christmas does an excellent job in training his foster mom to use his new feeder although she tries to convince us that she is not the one being trained. Would you agree the video evidence clearly shows Lloyd lounging while foster mom does all the work? Lloyd came to us as a stray and after many months in a cage with little exercise, he put on quite a bit of weight (and resembles a rotund raccoon when he runs). He is currently in a foster home to give him a break from the shelter and have his food intake monitored and his exercise increased. His foster mom recently purchased the contraption in the video in which the kitty pushes a button to release a few morsels of food and then runs/walks back and forth from the button to the feeder in order to both limit food intake and increase exercise.
Lloyd Christmas was named after the Jim Carrey character in Dumb and Dumber because of his adorable tabby markings that look like bangs across his forehead. We’ll be honest here, Lloyd can be kind of a jerk and has been known to nip (with his teeth) without warning but the next second expects to be sweet talked and petted - by the person he just nipped at! With that in mind we recommend an experienced cat home without young children. He does love human attention but is not fond of other animals so it is best that he is the only fur creature in the home. His foster mom shared that he loves to be held like a baby and will immediately begin doing happy paws when held that way. She also says he loves tearing and shredding cardboard boxes and when he’s done, he likes to run around proud of his handiwork!
Lloyd is not making it easy to find him a home but we know the purrfect one is out there for an adorable jerk that runs like raccoon, shreds cardboard, and doesn’t want to share his space with other animals. It's a tall order but for the right home, Lloyd Xmas will make an amazing pal says his foster mom. He is between
THANK YOU!! 💚
We would like to thank everyone who supported our 1st rummage sale! This was a community effort from start to finish and we are happy to report that together we raised $5,200 💵 for the shelter! 🥳
Thank you to those who donated items, who dropped off items, who helped organize and price items. Thank you to those who worked the sale and helped people load up their treasures. Thank you to those who came to early-bird shopping and waited in line. Thank you to those who shopped all morning yesterday and then came back for the $1 sale to help us almost clear out the gym. Thank you to those who packed it all up, cleaned up the gym, and helped load everything into the truck, and thank you to the Salvation Army for coming all the way out to Panora to pick up the remaining items.
From everyone at PETS, THANK YOU AGAIN! 🐾 We hope to make this an annual event. 🛍️😻
Pitch was not done running around having fun yet

Miller is a baby in a cat's body. He is a little shy when he doesn't know you. Once he does he is the sweetest! He loves being held so much he doesn't ever want put down 😅
SYCHRONIZED SIBLINGS
SYCHRONIZED SIBLINGS - Brother and sister, Jack and Chrissy, practice their synchronized step program on the kitty exercise wheel in our front picture window. They've become quite the mini celebrities in town with the little show they put on for passers-by on Main Street. We're hoping to catch their other sibling, Janet, on the wheel at the same time to increase their program's degree of difficulty and up their competition score! Jack, Chrissy, and Janet are just over a year old with almost identical looks of their stunning tabby markings. All are wonderful easy going kids that get along well with others and have been with us since they were tiny babies. You can read more about them and complete an application at www.panorapets.com.
Did you know we have two cats training for RAGBRAI this year?
Chungus has been working extremely hard on his endurance. He’s ready to partyyyyyy. Purrhaps you’ll see him along the route on his big wheel, you never know what you’ll see these days 😹 Chungus is available for adoption. View his profile at www.panorapets.com
Twinkie has also been working hard on his ragbrai game. Check the comments for his video. Twinkie is also still available for adoption.
Comment below if you’re riding and which route?
Go Motor Go
NOTICE ANYTHING UNUSUAL - Check out this video of Motor running down the shelter hallway and see if you notice anything unusual about him. Did you catch it? He's a tripod and has only 3 legs! But having one leg less than the recommended number sure doesn't stop him from running, jumping, and playing (including the purrfect use of a litterbox) like his 4 legged pals.
Motor was found as a badly injured stray hiding out in the equipment of a local homeowner's shop. When they were able to coax him into a carrier and take him to the vet he was found to have numerous bite injuries from a vicious attack by another animal. The wounds on his back leg were terribly infected and unfortunately, there was no way to save the leg leaving amputation as the only course of treatment. But fortunately, the wounds on his front leg were treatable with some high powered antibiotics and his front leg was able to be saved. He adapted to life as a tripod almost immediately.
Motor is estimated to be between 2 - 3 years old and you would not be able to find a nicer gentler kitty anywhere. Initially he was quite shy and meek - but then who wouldn't be if you had been living as a stray and had been attacked within an inch of your life! He has really come into his own during the last few months with us and now plays with toys, runs throughout the shelter, and simply delights everyone he meets. Motor gets along seamlessly with other kitties and loves human attention. He will come running in response to his name and will give gentle head bumps on your face while being held He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped and ready for his furever home. You can read his profile and fill out an adoption application at www.panorapets.com.
