Clever Noushka! What better way to celebrate all that hard work with a lovely stretch on a hack. Next week I’ll see if we can get a last score needed at Advanced medium but no pressure 🤞🏼 we’ve really had such an educational year and it’s all coming together thanks to my excellent trainers Ben St John-James & Roland Tong at Swanmore stud and the excellent saddle fitting by Gemma Bowles Saddle Fitting with TDS Saddlers the Erreplus really was a game changer. Plus recently consulting with Olivia Turner Animal Behaviour Consultant & Equine Bitting Specialist has massively helped. Thanks everyone ❤️

Who else can relate? For me it’s when poo picking 🙈

I will never be able to describe the power of time spent cleaning stalls.

During this time I have made some of the biggest decisions in my life. I have silently thought my way, step by step, through some of the biggest disasters of my life. I have ugly cried my way through heartbreak all while cleaning stalls. I’ve thrown bags of sawdust in range as I thought about all of the sh*tty things going on in my life. Each stall has oddly given me a place of comfort as I stood, fork in hand, feeling empty during the times I’ve felt so alone. It has taught me to appreciate the serenity of the quiet. Realizing the ones in my life I can count on and the numerous fake people who are only present when convenient for themselves. I’ve enjoyed a free gym membership, as I’ve sculpted my back and shoulders into “he man”, just sifting away. I’ve stumbled my way, dry heaving, with sunglasses ....cleaning stalls through morning sickness, because god forbid my best friend be forced to stand in a dirty stall. Today I spend my morning cleaning stalls and processing my life. I’m mentally making life changing decisions, as I write this post, knowing that whatever I decide, it will be the right one, as it was made in a stall.

I understand that there are those who think us horse people should get “real” jobs. And that all we do is spend our days “playing” around. I’m genuinely sorry that you have never been exposed to a lifestyle that teaches you discipline, how to love unconditionally, put something other then yourself first, bust your ass for the things you want and need, kept humble by a 1200 lb animal, the real meaning of “hard work”, early mornings and late nights spent caring for something other than YOU. Those are things a “real job” will never give you.

Some of you haven’t cleaned stalls .....and it shows.

FYI do not let your horse stop for a poo in the middle of your walk sequence. Today wasn’t the best day on paper to say the least. Noushka wasn’t her impecable self today. We weren’t in tune at all and she thought she knew best and then took a 💩 mid test. Also I lost count during the rein back 🤷‍♀️😂
But she does still feel awesome in her Erreplus
saddle and I’m still in love with it. So here’s a pic of her training in the sun. And another of the face that speaks a thousand words…. Naughty being one of them

Good evening you wonderful people. I absolutely hate to do this as it’s so rare this happens but as you know my diary gets booked up well in advance and I have a cancellation list. If you cancel your appointment I can usually fill it if you’ve given me a few days notice. But it’s very hard to fill slots with less than 24 hr notice. So please can i ask that you provide 48 hour notice for any appointment changes or cancellations. I do charge late fees within 24-48hrs of the appointment it’s 50% of the session. But is the full 100% if cancelled with less than 24 hrs notice. I know there is the odd emergency, so I will always try and fill the slot. It’s just so frustrating to me and people waiting for appointments.

Another brilliant outing to Sparsholt Equine Centre yesterday for BD. An overall win for Noushka and I in the Medium on 66.6% . The scores are creeping up slowly. I’m still making the odd amateur mistake here and there but I do feel they’re less and less common these days and as usual Noushka was her impeccable self. The music didn’t go to plan but that’s for another day 😂
Lorry issues meant Ben St John-James came to the rescue so thank you very much!!

Finally landed in Spain for a much needed family holiday ❤️💃🏼👙☀️🥂
Yesterday Noushka and I ventured to Fair oak grange. I was dubious about going as had a bit of a confidence crisis with my riding over the past few weeks but needed a run before Areas at the end of the month.
Confidence restored. Noushka was her usual impeccable self at a show. Gained our best score to date and regional points in the Medium and an area qualifying score at Advanced medium. Changes need to get better but the hours of work on pirouettes and simple changes have finally paid off. Thank you Kate Bruce for all your help today.
Then to top off a wonderful day my awesome friends and trainers Roland Tong and Ben St John-James and yard owners hosted the best BBQ and game of rounders at Swanmore stud. Thanks guys it was a superb evening as always. Such a lovely crowd 🥰🥂
