Silhouette Papillons Dedicated to preservation of the complete butterfly companion. AKC breeder of merit 🦋

Silhouette Papillons started in 2007 with our first two show dogs UKC #4 Papillon, Multi Group placing, GRCH Raven Crest Kings Ransom, CGC, TDI and UKC GRCHtd Raven Crest Simply Irresistible. We have since grown and expanded our wings into the performance world and LOVING every minute of it!! Our dogs are trained/ compete in Agility, Weight Pull, Obedience, Rally, Frisbee/ Disc, Parkour, Freestyle

Dance, Scent work, and Service Dogs. We actively worked alongside the Penn state university research team and the Papillon Club of America Genetics team to help find and develop a marker for NAD - Neuro Axonal Dystrophy. We are open to discussing this horrific disease, with open minded breed fanciers. We encourage all Papillon fanciers to health test and submit all results for NAD, Pap-PRA1, VWD1, CFVII, and OFA cardiac and patella results. We are located in pnw Washington, a few hours from Seattle.

Our baby butterflies are raised around my service dogs and exposed at a young age through appropriate safety pens. Early exposure and positive experience helps set them up for success as they transition to their new homes.

As the saying too often goes lately.... it rains. It pours 🫗

Update - 6/16/25 Beven is back to his happy self. No clue what happened, I'm going with he made a dumb prey driven choice to grab a frog. We've swept the yard every morning since looking for frogs before the pack goes outside. Fun times!

😢 Yesterday late afternoon my sons dog, Beven became very lethargic and ill. Beven was in his crate for maybe an hour ish. I went to let him out and he collapsed. He was drooling like crazy and couldn't stand. Called vets in my area and no one could get him in, partially because of the time of day and being full with other last minute emergencies. I called the new er vet but they did not open till 6pm, and that's if they could get me in. I filled out their online forms anyways. I live 90 min away and a bridge that randomly opens from the nearest trauma/er. And that's if the nearest one could even take us. Due to the time of day there were also several traffic issues on Friday late afternoon.

I'm a farm girl, and I'm not stupid when it comes to vet care. I triaged him, and I had fluids i can push if needed. His symptoms appeared that of poison/ low blood sugar. I offered him food and water. He was able to eat on his own a 1/4in slice of red barn meat roll.

Within seconds the drooling stopped.. in 5 min he was up and wanting to stand. In about 45 min he was able to somewhat walk and tried several times to leg lift when i tried to get him to potty outside. But nothing really came out. I offered him a bit more meat roll soaked in broth. 30 min later he was able to walk away from me into the house and act like he wanted to jump on the couch 🤦‍♀️

Peninsula Pet Emergency called me back at 7pm (they open at 6, and I took him in immediately.) We did an ultrasound and noticed a slightly large prostate. We did various bloodwork tests, and found only very very slightly decreased levels of potassium and calcium. Nothing remarkable. Xrays show a full tummy and intestine full of gas. We sent them to a specialist for review and they didn't see anything out of the norm other then agreed that after 4hrs from eating the food should have been further into his intestines.

At 11pm last night, I chose to leave him overnight to remain on fluids and observation. He still has random tremors and weak, but no longer drooling. No clue what he could have gotten into. We are thinking he possibly could have gotten ahold of a frog, because my dogs like to do crazy things like that 🤦‍♀️ 🐸 but no sores or anything in his mouth and nothing on the toxin tests we ran.

At the moment he's stable, but we could use any prayers you have a moment to share 🙏 💕 Peninsula Pet Emergency has only been open for two weeks, they are a new resource for the Olympic peninsula.

I'm currently waiting for 6am when the Dr will call with an update.

✨️ new rally novice title for Summitt!! ✨️

Three days, three qualifying runs, and we made it! 🥰 Summit finished today with an 80/100 and 4th place overall novice b class. Super proud of my wild man and looking forward to our next adventure 🦋

Insane wind and rain at today's trail 🌧 canopies and things flying, everyone soaked to the core and cold. I was really worried Summitt would say forget this (and really we all were about mid way because of the crazy weather) especially since he spent the entire wait time buried under his blankets in the back of his crate sleeping 💤

Somehow, with immense luck, we managed to pull off a 77/100 and third place earning his second qualifying rally novice leg. The ground was cold, wet, and he was not impressed. Summitt took on the storm and we finished the day with ribbons 🥰
