In my opinion, Ancistrus Super Red Long Fins is a fish that will never lose its popularity. We always have a lot of requests to purchase them.
When your main parenting duty is to keep everything under control, but then the aquarist comes along and says, ‘Enough sitting in the tube, it’s time for the kids to venture out!’ 😄 Our hero, the Super Red male, has done his best, but now it’s time for the little ones to start their journey into the big aquarium world. The eggs with tails are ready to hatch, while our dad… well, he’s staying in his favorite ceramic tube. Just like in life: you care for them, then you set them free. Anyone else have a hero like this among their catfish?

Feeding process
Here’s a small glimpse into our daily farm routine. Currently, we have over 100 floating boxes with fry. To manage this many fry, we use small stones coated with a thin layer of our DIY paste. Throughout the day, we replace the stones with fresh ones 2-3 times. It's a quite time-consuming process, but it always pays off with excellent fry growth rates.
Aquarium keeping is already your passion. But have you thought about taking it a step further? Why not try your hand at breeding? While some species can be challenging, others are quite manageable -- even for beginners. One such species is the Ancistrus Wabenmuster, also known as Honeycomb Plecos.
Tips for Successfully Breeding Wabenmusters:
1) Create a Comfortable Environment: Ensure your aquarium has enough space for your Wabenmuster family. Add a cave for them to lay eggs, like our Plecoceramics cave (https://www.amazon.com/Plecoceramics-Natural-Breeding-Decorations-Aquarium/dp/B08667TBBG/)
2) Frequent Water Changes: Increase water changes to several times a week, adding water a few degrees cooler than the tank.
3) Quality Food: Provide high-quality food, similar to their natural diet. Our Plecoceramics DIY paste is an excellent option (https://plecoceramics.com/collections/fish-food)
4) Patience and Luck: With some luck, you'll soon see the female laying eggs in the cave and the male fertilizing them. One pair can spawn every two months, producing over 40 babies each time.
