Do you travel to the United States with your four-legged friend? Starting August 1, 2024 things will look different when travelling south. New restrictions will be coming into effect and we want our clients aware so you can plan ahead for your trip.
New restrictions include:
Be at least 6 months of age at the time of entry to the United States.
Have an implanted ISO-compatible microchip (this must has been implanted PRIOR to any required rabies vaccination)
Appear healthy upon arrival
Have a CDC DOG IMPORT FORM (this form is to be filled out 2-10 days before arrival) which includes a clear photograph of your dog. There is no charge to importers for this form.
CERTIFICATION OF FOREIGN RABIES VACCINATION AND MICROCHIP- endorsed by an official veterinarian at 30 days or less before arrival into the United States. Accompanying this will be 2 veterinary records with the microchip listed from the last 6 months.
There are no changes to the requirements until August 1, 2024. If you have any questions regarding these changes, please call us at 403-227-3535 or check out the website for more information:

Starting on August 1, 2024, dogs entering or returning to the United States must meet new, specific requirements depending on where they have been in the 6 months before entering the U.S. and where they received their rabies vaccines (if required).

I did not have these particular kittens in my care but I did have the privaledge of offering transport for Rescue Friends from Mainstreet Unique Innisfail, where they are awaiting their forever family to the vet for their final set of vaccines until they are 1 year old!
This is Emo on the left and Dewdrop on the right .
They have very unique pattern to them with a very slender look to them . They remind me of the troublemakers in the movie Lady and the Tramp l.

We love porcupines! Often misunderstood, they are gentle creatures who prefer to mind their own business.
Porcupines are the second largest rodent in North America. They have strong heads, thick, short legs, small ears and eyes and sharp front claws for climbing. They have a thick coat of hair interspersed with long bristles and stiff quills. Estimates are that porcupines have over 30,000 quills on their back and tail. Their only defence against predators is their quills. When frightened they turn their tail towards the enemy. Porcupines cannot shoot their quills; physical contact has to happen for quills to be embedded into a surface.
They are vegetarians and spend many hours per day eating woody material stripped from trees. They also eat flowers and grasses and often chew on discarded antlers left by deer or elk for calcium and other minerals.
Porcupines are solitary animals. The female gives birth in April or May to one porcupette each year. The biggest threats to porcupines are domestic dogs, cougars, coyotes, great horned owls, wolves and vehicles. Porcupines are also often injured or killed by humans due to misinformation.

ITSY BITSY KITSY STORY
Watch part 1 now!
https://youtu.be/0qwigz9JLxs?si=wK1fKcx1NH7hjwHX
Mama cat was abandoned near a business, and she gave birth to eight premature kittens. Employees of the business gave her shelter and food, but she took four kittens away and never returned for the other four.
Tragically, one of the abandoned kittens did not make it. When the owner of Nine’s Catudio came to their rescue, she found three tiny bodies. The kittens were on the brink of death, and the battle for their life began. Nine’s Catudio kept them alive and named them Itsy Bitsy Kitsy, and soon after, a foster volunteer from Rescue Friends rescue joined the efforts and began providing kittens with professional care.
Slowly but surely, the little kittens started to give hope that they would survive. They still have a long road ahead of them, but with your help, they will make it to find their forever homes.
The resilience of these tiny furballs is nothing short of extraordinary, and it’s a testament to the power of love and dedication.
Nine’s Catudio, together with Rescue Friends, is working on locating the first three kittens and Mama cat in hopes of rescuing them from the cold, providing necessary care and spaying and neutering.
To follow the progress of the kittens, follow Nine's Catudio on X (formerly Twitter () and YouTube (Nine's Catudio)
These little furballs have captured our hearts, and now we’re calling on you to join us in their fight for survival.
We are proud to offer a range of exclusive merchandise, with profits going towards formula, vaccinations, and shelter for these adorable kittens. Every purchase makes a difference, so please help us to give Itsy, Bitsy, and Kitsy the start in life they deserve.
Rescue Friends and Nine’s Catudio are two entities dedicated to improving the lives of abandoned animals. If you would like to support our efforts, you can donate directly to Rescue Friends (www.rescuefriends.ca) or make purchases from Nine’s Catudio (www.ninescatudio.com) using the code IBKlove.
As a token of our appreciation, donors who contribute over $100 will receive one free merch item of their choice (t-shirt, mouse pad)

What if we told you that you could have a cat or dog with NO financial commitment 🙀! All of their vet care, food, treats, beds, and other supplies would be provided to you at NO COST 🙀. An animal that you could love 🥰 and have as part of your family for a period of time and help the animal to learn what it feels like to be loved 💙.
This is called 💥 fostering 💥and we desperately need more people to open their hearts and homes! The months ❄️💨 have come that Animal Rescuers dread . The 🥶winter months where cats and dogs have to live outside (because they were either born there, became lost, or were discarded by humans like yesterday’s trash). These animals not only have to fight off usual things like predators , but now they must fight the elements to survive the ❄️ snowy weather, freezing temperatures and fight harder to find food and shelter 😢.
‼️Foster homes are desperately needed ‼️ in Calgary, Airdrie and outlying communities for kittens, cats, puppies and dogs. Some animals, like Scarlett pictured here have been in care for awhile and are fully vetted (vaccinated 💉, dewormed 🐛, spayed or neutered 🪡 and microchipped 💊). If those animals can move to new foster homes while they await their forever homes, then we can take more in from the ❄️cold ❄️ into our quarantine homes.
🙏🏻 Please 🙏🏻 join our team and help save the lives of cats 🐱 and dogs 🐶 in our community. We are all they have! ‼️ WE are the difference between life and death‼️

I have been asked to help re home this beautiful big boy .
He’s Great Pyrenees/Caucasian shepherd and he is very large.
He is 4 years old and is NOT fixed !
I would ask anyone interested in him to please arrange his neutering.
I do NOT Know this dog personally and I have been told the reason for re homing him is because he won’t stay home .
(Neutering could help this problem )

Please note I will no longer offer discount for multiple daily visits .
(Visit fee will be dependent on location)
Thank you

My orphaned foster kittens are 1 week old .
Itsy, the smallest boy weighing 119 grams.
Bitsy the largest boy weighing 147 grams.
Kitsy the pretty girl weighs 134 grams .
They have all doubled their weight since arrival although being premature they are still behind where they should be at this stage .
They have all lost their umbilical cords and hinting at maybe opening their eyes very soon .
They require many feedings throughout the day and night and so my sleep pattern is all over the place just now.
My efforts are keeping these orphaned souls alive and to see them grow is so rewarding .
If you would like to donate towards their care please follow the “make a donation” link posted on Rescue Friends website .
You can memo Itsy Bitsy Kitsy.
