The Lunar New Year has so many wonderful traditions to celebrate, but by far the yummiest one is the Reunion Feast where family gathers from afar to have a special dinner with a wide variety of foods with symbolic meanings meant to give blessings of prosperity and fortune. 🍚

If you consider your fur baby part of the family (we do!) you should let them join in on the fun with a special treat of their own! They could use a little extra food in the winter since they burn extra calories trying to keep warm.❄️

Just be sure to exercise caution if you want to give them something Lunar New Year-themed since there are some foods and ingredients common in Lunar New Year celebrations that can be hazardous to your pet, such as onions, garlic, grapes, soy sauce, red bean paste, nuts, and glutinous rice flour. Instead, try fish-packed dumplings for a cat or a meat stew with carrots, shiitake mushrooms, bok choy, and ginger for a dog!🥩

"I felt the need to take the time to leave a review for this product. My dog has suffered from itchy paws and skin for years (always chewing her paws and flaky skin on her coat). I've tried everything in the book, and the only solution the vet recommended was allergy shots which were very expensive and not a feasible option for me. I tried using Dr. Maggie's Skin and Coat and within a few weeks my dog was noticeably less flaky and not chewing her paws as much. It hasn't gone away completely, but it has made a hugeeeeee difference! This stuff works wonders and my dog loves the taste, she goes crazy when I take the bottle out of the fridge. Every ingredient that goes into each Dr. Maggie product is chosen carefully and deliberately, and our choice of lecithin in our Skin & Coat formulation is no exception. 🧪

Lecithin is an emulsifier that allows oil (like the fish, flax, and olive oil in Skin & Coat) and water to interact and helps prevent cholesterol from forming deposits on the walls of blood vessels would could lead to total blockage. It was originally sourced from isolated egg yolks but these days it comes from two main sources - sunflower and soy. We chose sunflower. 🌻 Why?

Sunflower lecithin is extracted without the need for potentially damaging chemical solvents like acetone and hexane and is the only lecithin which is obtainable both chemical-free and raw. Sunflower lecithin also has higher levels of some important essential fatty acids like choline and phosphatidylinositol.
