Foster secured!

URGENT FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED FOR ROGER & RAVEN! These pups are the last two of their litter without rescue and we hate to see them left behind. They can travel THIS Saturday but need commitment TODAY in order to get their vetting and paperwork in order before they can transport.

Roger and Raven are about 10 weeks old and 10 lb each. Their mama has a family but they didn’t get her spayed and she got pregnant by another dog in the neighborhood. She is a pretty black and tan girl, about 35 lb, so we expect the puppies to also be medium size when full grown. Rogers and Raven can be fostered together but will be adopted separately as we recommend with all littermates.

Foster or foster-to-adopt needed for Priscilla!

Priscilla is a gorgeous shepherd mix who is around 50 lbs and 1-2 yrs old. She was brought into the shelter by animal control as a stray.

Priscilla enjoys running and rough-housing in the shelter yard with a group of dog pals. She has done well with both male and female dog playmates. If you are a Shepard lover here is your chance to help this girl get out of the shelter and into a loving home!

URGENT FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED FOR STERLING! Sterling is a 9 month old, 50 lb lab terrier mix who needs to make a quick exit from the shelter. He and his siblings came in as young puppies and poor Sterling still hasn’t been chosen yet. It’s not his fault! There are just so many great dogs and puppies there and not as many adopters.

One volunteer says. “Sterling is a true sweetheart. Just loves people and is wonderful with dogs. That entire litter is so sweet.”

URGENT FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED FOR FINN AND KODA!

Koda (black) and Finn (red) are both 11 week old male puppies who urgently need fosters or foster-to-adopt families!

These two cuties were slated to go to another rescue this weekend, but the other rescue pulled out and Finn and Koda have no where to go. Their shelter is severely overcrowded. They would arrive tomorrow morning. PLEASE let us know asap if you can help! These babies need their freedom ride to a better life and we want to make that happen for them!

Hey there, World! I’m Hadley, the cutest hound pup on the block, on a mission to sniff out my forever home. I’m a little under a year old and weigh around 40lbs.
You might mistake me for a wise older dog with my calm and collected demeanor. I may be a bit reserved at first, but once I warm up to you, get ready for a flood of sweetness and smiles.
I respond to my name like a pro and have impeccable manners around food, treats, and toys. Sure, I’m still mastering the art of potty training, but hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day!
I’m a laid-back gal who’d fit right in with kids and other furry pals. Whether it’s a cozy nap on the couch or a playful romp in the yard, I’m always ready to join in the fun. My foster mom is saying I need at least one other dog in my forever home so that I continue to feel comfortable and learn that new things aren’t scary.

Foster or foster-to-adopt needed for Khloe puppy!!

This adorable girl is a lab/hound mix around 35 lbs and 5-6 months old. Khloe was found at a gas station as a stray and brought into the shelter with other pups found in the same area.

Khloe is a happy, sweet and fun girl! She enjoys time in the play yard with other dogs and volunteers at the shelter. She has even enjoyed running around with some kiddo volunteers there. She can be a little timid at first but warms up quickly.

This sweet girl needs a ride out of the shelter! A family and foster home would do wonders for her in continuing her socialization and learning to be the best four-legged family member.

Sweet puppy, Finn, is URGENT due to time at shelter and capacity issues!

Finn is a super sweet and cute 8 month old guy who has been waiting for a family to pick him since March. He has just been overlooked and the shelter continues to face overcrowding issues. He is now around 50 lbs and is so ready to join a family and learn about the good life!

Finn is always very grateful for the volunteers that love and play with him at the shelter. He is a big fan of balls and toys! He’s such a handsome boy, very happy, and gets along well with both male and female dogs. He’s hoping for someone who will play ball and fill up a doggy pool to splash splash or take him to a lake for some fun times!
Finn walks pretty well on a leash and wants to be your new friend. Watch his videos and share this awesome pup.

Update: Chewey has found a new home!
URGENT FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED FOR CHEWEY! Chewey (right) is a 9 year old, 70 lb cattle dog / lab mix. His person lost their home and now he only has another day or two to find a new place to hang his leash. His sister, Leia (left), an 8 year old lab, has found a nice rescue to take her in, but they don’t have space for Chewey. We are sharing both pups in hopes to find them a spot where they can stay together. If not, we’d love to help Chewey so he doesn’t end up in a shelter.

Chewey would be fine as an only dog or with a laid back dog. He has lived with Leia for her whole life and spent some time with another dog who was quite timid and they coexisted just fine. He will pull and bark at other dogs on leash but he doesn’t mean any harm! He does have a high prey drive, so would probably not be a good match with cats. He is pretty chill as you might expect for a 9 year old dog.

Did you miss our Meet & Greet yesterday? Not to worry! You can always apply and then meet the dog with a privately arranged meeting with the dog, foster human and applicants. Our dogs were great yesterday and had a fun time meeting new people! We will also be having a Meet & Greet in Maple Glen this coming Sunday but our attendee list is not ironed out yet. Keep an an eye out on socials for who will be coming this Sunday. In the meantime check out some of our awesome pups who attended yesterday!

Zoey is a young adult female boxer who is looking for a new place to hang her leash. She is around 2.5 years old and enjoys the company of people. She is fine with kids and we would recommend a house with kiddos 8 years old and up. Zoey is a very loving and devoted pup!

Zoey is not getting along with the other resident female dog in her home. She has been ok with male dogs but for now we are recommending Zoey be an only dog. She is used to being walked on a leash so no fenced yard is required but she definitely wouldn’t turn one down!

Update: Ace has found a foster-to-adopt family!

Ace is a neutered German Shepherd who is around 4 years old and 80 lbs. This handsome and smart fellow had to be seized from him owner because he was not receiving proper care and was not living in good conditions. He is all fixed up now and is looking for his forever family!

Ace knows LOADS of tricks. He can sit, lay down and shake with whichever paw you want. He is a fetch all-star! He brings the ball back every time and nicely gives it back so you will keep throwing it. He is fine with dogs and great with kids! He seems to be especially gentle around the kiddos. Right now we are suggesting no cats in the home with Ace.

Ace is fully house trained and will sit and paw at the back door to let you know that he needs a potty break. He has a little work to do walking on a leash. He does well when focused on walking with few distractions. He can get strong and curious when there are things going on. When something catches his interest, he will pull in that direction but he is easily corrected.

This guy will become your shadow and doesn’t love when his people leave. Where he currently bunking he gets a little sad when his kiddos leave the house for the day and waits for them to get home.
He’s very calm and laid back inside the house. He lights up and likes to run, jump, and play outside.

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Clara is a petite brindle girl, around 9 months old and just under 30 lb. She is a very lovable and sweet pup and is convinced she’s a lap dog.

Clara is settling into her foster home and building confidence after spending the past few months at the shelter. She’s dog friendly and we think she’d be happy with another dog in her forever home. She can be nervous around new people, but treats sweeten the pot. She’s also a bit wary of the cat in her foster home and gives him a wide berth around the house 😂

Clara loves going for walks and does well on a leash. She is working on potty training and has made progress in a short time. With a little time and lots of yummy treats, we think she’ll continue to blossom. If you’d like to meet Miss Clara, email [email protected] for an application today!

It’s $5 Friday! There is no donation that is too small. Multiple people donating just $5 adds up to help us out.

Recently we have had some costly medical expenses for our dogs. We had 1 unexpected heartworm treatment that was needed and 2 senior dogs in our care that required a lot of dental work to make them comfortable again. Thankfully they were able to get this taken care of this week!

Update: adoption pending!
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! With her big smile and lolling tongue, Malina is one of the happiest girls in town. She wakes up each morning ready to shower you with affection and live every day to the fullest. She can’t wait meet her forever family!

Malina is a super cute mixed breed, around two years old and just under 40 lb. She loves absolutely everyone she meets and adores the kiddos in her foster home. Dog friends are great in her book, too, though she loves hard and doesn’t always understand personal space (with humans or canines!). She would do great with or without another dog in her forever home as long as her people have time to play with her! She’s very curious about cats so would do best with dog-savvy cats, and care should always be taken with kitty intros.

Malina loves playing fetch, chewing on hooves or antlers, and taking long walks and hikes. She’ll happily trot along with you as far as you’ll go! She’s doing well with house training and mastered the doggie door quite quickly. She sleeps soundly in the crate at night, but isn’t the biggest fan during the day and would rather be near her people. She’s a sucker for scratches!

Malina is sure to bring the biggest smile to your face. She has so much potential and will shine with time and training. She loves everyone and shows that love with smooches! Meet Jack! Jack will be at the Meet & Greet on Sunday hoping to find his forever family.

Jack came to us after his owner passed away. He is available to adopt, through our foster-to-adopt program or to foster.
Jack is about 5-6 years old and 25 lbs. He is a Heinz 57 dog and we are unsure as to what breeds could be in there. He is friendly and good with other dogs. Jack has not been around cats. He is crate trained. Jack is not recommended for a home with small kiddos because he can be a little protective of things that he really likes.
Jack should be in a home where he gets regular exercise! He is ready to join you on all of the walks and hikes. He is like the energizer bunny and could keep up with you all day long! When he isn’t outside getting his aerobics on he enjoys stuffed animals and bones!

This Sunday! We will be back at Concord Pet Food & Supplies this Sunday. From noon-2pm Sunday you can come meet some of our adoptable dogs. Concord is also having a big sale on select treats, food and toys on Saturday and Sunday! Come to the event and meet some of our wonderful pups.

FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED FOR HENDRIX! Hendrix is a two year old boxer shepherd mix who weighs about 60 lb. He was surrendered to a shelter and while we don’t know the back story, we do know it was sad for all involved, especially Hendrix. He was distraught when she left him. He is adjusting now, but it’s clear he misses his person. The shelter says he’s a very good boy, one of the best they’ve had in a long time. He’s great with people and other dogs and pays no attention to the cats around the yard. If you can open up your heart and home to help Hendrix, email [email protected]. He can travel to PA on 7/20 with foster or adoption commitment.

Did you know that Sweet Pea, Crystal and Bubba are all bunking it together at the same foster home?! They are all dog friendly and love playing with other dogs. Bubba and Crystal we think could also be ok as only dogs with the right opportunities to get out and play and exercise. They will all be at the Meet & Greet tomorrow.
