Hi! Hope you’re having a good weekend. We are on our way home from our beach trip and I just wanted to share some of our “wins” from the trip and thank you for your help getting us to this point! Overall, Cooper did great! He was able to relax in the car, get used to the waves enough to go in the water, sit under the table while we ate lunch out, and walk on the beach without dragging me through the sand.

Anybody want a Mali to add to their home. She is a pretty one.

Karma was recently brought to the shelter after the family’s multiple dogs were left at home unattended and a dog fight ensued. It is unsure what or who instigated the fight but the family felt since she was the newest member to their pack ( supposedly they had her for only 8 months) they would relinquish her. She has been non reactive to the dogs at my house but can be pushy. I personally wouldn’t put her with another female. She is a big girl 75 pounds ish and approximately 2 years old. Housebroken and crate trained. She is your typical Malinois smart and sometimes mouthy. She has medium drive and will settle nicely at your feet. She’s aloof with strangers at first but then thinks she’s a lap dog. I am looking for adopters with working dog or Malinois experience. Because we don’t know much about her background I would say no young children. Adopters will be required to attend obedience training with a trainer experienced with the breed. She would make a nice dog for someone who is active outdoors or someone wanting to dabble in some type of dog sport like scent work, dock diving or even IPG.
Serious adopters can submit a completed application to [email protected]

We had an amazing class today. We did some novice rally and then we walked. We met a reactive St Bernard so we helped the owner out by running for blocking. Such good handlers. Charley our reactive mini Aussie is doing amazing. She walked within the group today for the first time. We all celebrated this! 🎉🎉🎉 This video is from last week. Today was the breakthrough.

Hi Folks, project Eevee update. Eevee met Ranger. Ranger is a Puerto Rico rescue from Save a friend PR. Unfortunely, he lost his eyes and he is now learning how to navigate the world blind. Eevee, who does not play with other dogs decided to try and engage him in play. Jilly has been trying to get her to play for months, so I think she’s a little jealous that Eevee is offering to play with Ranger

Charley not barking out the window at me like she did the first time. Excitement equals a barking dog. Good Job, sweetie. She is doing amazing learning new skills. Charley is 5, she’s been trained her behaviors differently than I would train, but she is well trained. She and her dad just needed a little help talking to each other. He also is doing amazing learning a different way to talk to Charley. They are now a happy walking team.
Talking to your dog using your leash is never a good idea. Always use your cues (voice) and your body (movement) to communicate what you need from your dog. It’s a dance is all, once you learn the steps and you practice daily, next thing you know you’re dancing in sync.
Charley got what I was saying in minutes, such a smart girlie ❤️

Be prepared folks. Make sure your dog is in a safe place tonight. Blocking sounds with fans, loud music, loud TVs. If they will eat food, yummy people food. You can find tons of ideas online for tonight’s management. If this is your first 4th be super prepared. It is terrifying for some dogs and slightly scary for others, but scary either way. Good luck! ❤️
I feel you, I’ve been there with my own pups!

Home. Not dog’s, but home.

Even after all of these years, there are still some shots around Pittsburgh that I'm chasing. And tonight, I was able to knock a very, VERY big one off that list: a rainbow over the Mr. Rogers statue and Pittsburgh skyline.

My first thought when it comes to capturing rainbows is usually "get the entire city". I have plenty of those by this point however, and it's always a risk to go somewhere where you've never shot a rainbow before, because it might not work out.

This evening Dana was meeting some friends for dinner, so the kids and I grabbed Primantis and enjoyed the cool temperatures the rain brought. I saw more rain heading towards the city, so after we were done, we headed into town, getting there right before the deluge hit.

The rain was still coming down in buckets when the sun reemerged, and BOOM...rainbow. I had to wait for the rain to settle down a bit, but when it did, it made for this amazing scene. You can't ask for more perfect light than that.

I have a bunch more angles, some close ups, and some other perspectives of the rainbow to come, but this is far and away my favorite, and exactly what I had hoped to capture.

Penny gots all the balls. We play in the baseball field so there are quite a few balls in the bushes around the fence. She goes hunting for them. This is her catch this morning. I put them in the dugout. I’m sure someone will be surprised!
